  1. intersting.... ... I want to know too. what did you use to stick them together?

oh btw.. ... do u guys consider these leather. or synethic fabric?

As far I haven't had any problems with bubbling or the material coming loose. I will keep my fingers crossed though ;)

I used a hairdryer to heat up the old material and then carefully / progressively pry it out. I left the old foam in its place, as it should be.

I used PPG paint and clear coat and the color is porsche polar silver. As is in og. alu-look kits I guess?

Split. Check your PM. Are you here in Dallas (Valley Ranch)?

  2. from rennlist... guys are saying the pop out cup holders are like 70 dollars or so from the dealer... (no idea how much it is haven't checked yet)

let me know how much you want to sell yours.,., and we can work on a deal

Loren: Do you mind to help me locate the part no. for the cup holder?..

I was going to do the same, even ordered the kit. Then I found A guy selling " the perfect cupholder" on the web. It sits on the floor and slides up under the center console plastic trim. It works great and I like the ideea of keeping the drinks on the floor mats and not right on top of the electronoics. Google it Porsche cup holder and you should be able to find it. I got two only using one. If you would like to but the indash kit or the cup holder I will cut you a deal. I think the in dash deal was around 100.00

What happened to the navigation unit?

You should contact Sky King. He will have all the parts you need for the cupholders. If not then there is a retrofit kit Porsche sells.

Do you have the smooth or raised covers for the switch holes?

  3. Yeah., I am interested in your cup holder if you are willing to sell

No. That is for the a/c trim that you already have.

    The a/c trim you need is 996 552 677 00 01C. Also need 2 brackets for the a/c display in the new location - 996 573 501 00. Then you will need a storage bin for where the a/c display was - 996 552 243 01 01C.

This guy might be interested in your cupholders.

Actually, I'm going to be doing the console delete so I won't need the storage bin. Taking out the CD holders along with cupholders. Thanks for the tip about the guy maybe wanting the cupholders.

    Thanks,

    Joe

  4. can someone please tell me what kind of part do I need to install a indash cup holder for my99 996

basically I will be moving the AC control unit down to the bottom and install the indash cup holder..

i've heard other than the unit itself., i will also need a bracket?

and btw., can somebody also give me the part no. for the fake buttons cover on the left and right side of the center console

    thanks

  5. dig up this thead couple months after its being discussed..

don't you guys think the fabspeed muffler bypass can be easily done by any muffler shop for 1/3 of the price where fabspeed is selling?

Don't think its possible to convert. Take a look at the "Mufflers Exposed" page on the fabspeed website, which shows cut open 996 stock mufflers.

I have a set of almost new 996 stock mufflers for sale cheap if you're interested. (If I'm not allowed to say that here, please forgive me and delete!).

  6. Hi, I have moved my A/C unit from the top to the lower bottom of the dash to fit a double din,. navi system.,

however, I don't have a trim at the lower bottom for the A/C does any body know what the part no. or what that trim is called?

996.552.339.00-01C List price $4.85, $3.01 at Sunset Porsche. The shipping will be more than the part so you might want to buy it locally.

The number I gave you 996.552.339.00.01C show on my PET and price list as the correct one, and I just did them change myself. It fit perfectly. I did not use the backets at the AC control unit fit so tightly I did not need them. The part n8umber in Loren's part also shows up at a AC trim. Don't know the difference.

Thank you for both of you guys fast replies.,! I will go dealer and grab that trim tomorrow.... Hope Rector in SF bay area don't rip me off.... by trying to sell it at 20 dollars...

Anyways., the park Loren showed I suppose it is the trim for the AC unit in the upper console...

  7. Loren., thanks for your reply,!

I am pretty sure its the hose , ... since the tank has been replaced less than 2 years ago by the dealer, I still have that invoice with me,. it was a $600 dollars damage.

Please kindly get the part no. for me if you could.

    its a MY99 C2 with 6 speed.

    thanks

Are you sure it is the hose and not the tank (above the hose)?

Hose leaks are certainly possible but older tanks do crack and leak. If it is the hose you will also want to replace the spring clamp with screw-type hose clamps. If you want part numbers please provide you cars model year and transmission type (Tiptronics have some different hoses).

  8. hand tight with a wrench is enough don't worry....

the wheel is actually held on by fiction force,,.between the wheel and hub.. not by the bolts....

You are fine but go buy yourself a torque wrench and a deep 19mm socket for the future.  If you are really worried you can approximate the 96 ft-lbs that you need depending on how much you weigh.  The emergency tool handle is about a foot long.  If you weigh 150# then put your hand about 2/3s of the way out and put all of your weight on it.  You can do the math depending on how much you weigh.
