  1. Since the occurrence of your problems seems restricted to starting or low speed running I would suspect a low voltage issue: bad earth/ battery/ alternator.
  2. I believe 2006 CTT and CTTS are capable of a maximum boost pressures of 1.6 bar and 1.9 bar respectively with the gauge reading only the portion above atmospheric pressure.
  3. If the outside temperature is more than 40C then the coolant temp of my 05 CTT wanders upwards by up to 10C, this occurs when driving above 130kph but never when stopped. I asked my Porsche specialist shop to check it out and was told that the temps recorded were within normal parameters. With outside temperatures below 40C the needle remains just to the left of the centre line at all times.
  4. Different experience from mine; I have had 1 filter change in 182,000 km of cayenne ownership in Dubai. Filter changed on my 2005 turbo at around 130,000 km when I had a fuel pump failure and I am now at 96,000 km on the GTS without a filter change. I've also never had any other fuel related problems.
  5. The high pressure fuel pump location is dependent on engine type HPFP V8 (Item 11) HPFP V6 (Item 16) DFI engines have an HPFP in the engine bay.

  7. Agreed, perhaps that was a cunning plan. :) However he was requesting in great detail the mechanisms by which PSM functions, which are indeed quite complex, not the basic principles of operation.
  8. Whatever the valve is on the other end of the hose from the secondary air pump is, changing it cured my transmission fault.
  9. Found the bill. Described by my Porsche specialist shop as the EGR valve it is valve on the opposite end of the hose from the Secondary Air Pump and described in PET only as Valve.
  10. Done that too we have plenty of deep soft here, only so much pressure you can let out of 18" rims! Even with the PSM off it will pull the power as soon as you start to spin, much better with the centre diff-lock in. This sort of stuff is OK in HR but you don't want to go into a blow hole without less than 15 psi in the tyres and centre lock engaged.

  12. The only way to drive a Cayenne in soft sand is in low ratio with centre diff engaged. In high ratio the PSM pulls the plug on the power as soon as the wheels start to spin.
  13. I can confirm that my 2005 CTT has milky lenses and the GTS are clear. Like the photos above the difference is similar to the difference between clear and pearl domestic bulbs.
  14. On mine this was accompanied by harsher than usual auto shifts and was cured by replacement of the EGR valve.
  15. Mine were slightly milky, I had them polished treated and they are now fully transparent.
  16. 196000 km on a CTT no problem with the air springing but on the local statutory testing of the suspension jig, failed on damping in normal setting and narrowly passed on sport setting. Anyone changed the damper units?
  17. ...and I thought the dealers were supposed to test drive the car after repair; manual mode would be high on my list after a shifter repair!
  18. Mine seems to be working since I pulled the headlamp unit to replace the PY21W indicator bulb which hadn't actually failed.
  19. I ran into a harsh shifting problem which was cured by EGR valve replacement. The upshot of this was quicker shifting, instaneous boost reaction and FSD on the boost gauge. Night and day. The response delay on the CTT does seem generally to be transmission related. bigbuzuki's suggestion works too.
  20. Now that does sound excessive! What mileage? My 05 turbo with 129,000 km. uses a litre ever 4,500 km.
