  1. Ignore my previous post. I managed to find the part on the wedsite by simply removing the spaces from the part no (7L0698030)
  2. Hi, I had a look at the site you mentioned (www.1stvwparts.com) but couldn't find the repair kit. Could you please post a link to the kit you purchased? Thanks AK
  3. I have the split expansion tank in my office. I can take some pics of back and underside to show the mounting locations. IIRC I think we had to remove the entire airbox to gain access to the expansion tank? My brother was the one who did most of the work, so I'll ask him.
  4. Hi All, Need your help again guys. I’ve got this weird problem whereby I am unable to open the front passenger side door (UK based car) using the external door handle. However I am able to open it using the interior handle. I’ve got access to an inspection camera which I was able to feed inside the door (after removing the grommet) and the main mechanism (supporting bow handle > http://www.design911.com/Supporting-Bow-Door-Handle-Porsche-955-Cayenne/prod7182/ ) appears to move freely when I pull either the interior or exterior door handles. This leads me to believe that it may be an electrical problem rather than mechanical? Thanks to this website I was able to find a guide on how to remove the interior door card (http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/32744-door-panel-removal/ ) but before I attempt this I want to make sure that it’s not some thing simple or a setting that I’ve overlooked? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and if so how did you resolve it? BTW I have a Key-less Entry System on my vehicle. Thanks in advance and I hope you can help me. AK
  5. Thanks once again for the help guys. I will try out the suggestions mentioned above along with carrying out more searches on the on the forum.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. :thankyou: The control stalk for the mirror is in the middle setting, I will change it to the driver setting and see if that makes any difference for the auto tilt? I am not sure how old the battery is on the vehicle, can someone tell me where it is located so I can check? Also where is the fuse box located? From memory I think I was still able to change the ride height when the ‘air suspension fault’ message appeared on the screen? I will need to double check just to make sure though. Do you have a link for the rebuild kit and is there a fitting guide available?
  7. Hi, I need your help with a couple of problems I’ve been having with my 2004 TT recently. First Problem; I’ve noticed that occasionally I get ‘air suspension faulty, go to workshop’ type error message on the dash. When the error message appears there doesn’t seem to be any adverse affect and the vehicle drives like normal. Is it possible for me to find out what the error code is without putting the vehicle on to a diagnostics machine? Also are there any other items I should check? Second problem; How do I activate the auto tilting mirrors when reversing the vehicle? When I purchased the vehicle the mirrors would automatically tile when I selected the reverse gear. However this function seems to have stopped working lately? Any advice on the two matters listed above would be much appreciated. Thanks Ak
  8. Thanks for the link. Don't think I'll have this by the weekend but may just buy one as it seems a good tool to have.
  9. Thanks for the advise, do you have a link for this tool? Looking at the design of the expansion tank this tool should also work on other VW/Audi/Porsche Vehicles? Thanks for the advise. There car didn't appear to be overheating when the expansion tank failure occurred and has been running fine without any issue for the last few months until now. Where is the thermostat located on the engine and is it easy to get to? Any pics or workshop diagram would be very helpful.
  10. Hi, I'm new to this website and new to Porsche ownership and was hoping that I could get some help with an issue that's just occurred with the coolant expansion tank of my 04 Cayenne Turbo. I recently purchased this vehicle back in June after selling my range rover. At the time I did quite a bit of research and discovered the issues with the coolant pipes, carden shaft bush, ignition coils etc that were prevalent with the early Cayenne models. After viewing a few vehicles that were less than desirable I eventually found a Cayenne in pristine condition, and more importantly with all the aforementioned work carried out by the dealer. I've been using the Cayenne everyday since and can not fault it. Yesterday as I arrived home I heard a loud popping type noise when I was parking the vehicle. After stepping out I noticed a pool of fluid on the floor, located at the right hand side of the vehicle. On inspection I realised that it was coolant fluid and refiled the expansion tank to try and locate the leak. At first I thought it might have been one of the rubber hoses in and around that area. After removing the airbox to gain access to the area I found that it was the expansion tank that had split (see pics below). Is this a common problem with the cayennes and has anyone else had this issue? I've got to say that I expected a lot more from prestige manufacturer such as Porsche. The expansion tank was only manufactured in Sept 2003 and it should really last the lifetime of the vehicle!! Now, this is were I need your help; I've ordered the part and should get round to fitting it this weekend. Can anyone tell me if the cayenne has a bleed screw of some description and if so where is it located? What is the process for refilling the coolant?
