I’m thinking battery, grounds, and if I’m not mistaken (Loren help me out) the vehicle electrical system controller will activate and deactivate controllers and consumers around the ring as demand and available power dictate for safe minimum safe operation. 30- seconds is enough for the system to check and detect a battery with a shorted cell. Cayennes do really strange things when power is not 100% adequate and stable.

  3. Yes I don’t think that’s factory. I have a similar set up in my glove box that the PO has installed by an aftermarket shop along with an roof mounted DVD player. Not sure who makes it but it’s definitely not stock. Check out http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/Porsche/Cayenne/Porsche_US Cayenne_Turbo_2006.pdf That set up is not an available option
  4. Wow! If the hat separated from the disc because those fasteners were missing or came loose I fear that rotor may be ruined as the rotational forces while the wheel is in motion may have ovaled-out the mounting holes. Good luck and keep us posted.
  5. My main issues were under the seat at the battery box in the engine compartment at the front the frame rails at the front and in the rear corners where water has collected. The connections were all dirty cruddy and corroded.
  6. Good old pull up and search and you’ll need to check the grounds on the chassis rails up front and rear floor too under the rear seat and spare tire
  7. I’ve had the same issue and Loren was right - bad grounds all over the place and a battery with a couple of weak cells. I replaced the battery cleaned and redressed the grounds and 99% of my issues went away.
  8. Hi I had a custom flash done after an engine rebuild and adding a bunch of bolt on stuff. Was it worth it? For the first few weeks yes but then it quickly became something I really could have done without . The cost of my tune was far less than the $1400.00 you quoted. I’m running a slightly overbore CTT with stock turbos larger all aluminum AKG intercoolers like on the Turbo S IPD intake plenum secondary cat delete with custom 3” cat back exhaust and stock tips (sleeper effect) Agency Power billet diverter valves and a 3” cold air intake system. The throttle response is great the induction noise is great the bottom through mid range is silly fat and torquey and it’ll pull to redline in every gear in a hurry. Extra legal speeds are easy and stop light battles against nearly all but the really expensive stuff is a walk in the park. But honestly the thrill is gone now. My suggestion spend the money on some really good brakes. 955 brakes suck!
  9. A scan with a Porsche dedicated tool like Durametric or PIWIS should be able to identify the culprit straight away A simple visual check may help as well, i.e., when you come out to the truck which end and side seems lower than the rest?
  10. You likely have a leak in one of the air springs or the valve body itself

Follow up Okay so AKG Intercoolers installed Getting the correct pressure pipes and hoses from Porsche was a pain in the arse because the parts manager couldn’t get it through his head I wanted parts that didn’t necessarily match my VIN # Took 3 tries and a week in delays After getting parts sorted and everything square I have noticed smoother boost and a big bump at 3200-4000RPM (stays solid at .7 bar) BUT... Now I’m chasing intermittent O2 issues Alternating too lean or too rich on booth banks I will pull some live data to compare duty cycles-on/off behavior on boost off boost to see if there’s any correlation
  13. I apologize for missing your question. We tried a few different ways. I have cold air intakes on with these large 6" come filters the easiest thing to try first was to remove a filter and intro smoke that way. Next we pulled off the bellows at the Y-pipe - I have an IPD plenum on - and put the wand in both sides traveling down to the MAFS and intercoolers.We pulled the IPD plenum off and got the wand through the throttle body to smoke the intake runners. Finally we pulled off the connections to the air injection pumps to see if there were any leaks at the CATS. A bit labor intensive but worth it.

  15. Leaky valve block or air spring. You should get to a good independent with the proper scan tools to see where the fault is so it can be corrected
  16. Okay so for anyone following this thread problem solved! Smoked the engine and found big leaks between the MAFs and the intercoolers and again at the plenum before the throttle body. New seals replaced leaky pipes and hoses and voila! No more codes no boost leaks power drops and hesitation and smoother shifting too
  17. Nice I'll let you know how it goes. I've been wanting to do this since I had my engine rebuilt a few years ago. Bad scoring and piston slapped warranted a rebuild. parts on order. stay tuned...
