  1. i don't freakin get it...if they can make led tail lights for non wide body 996s why can't they make one for wide body?? it uses the same tech just different size...
  2. how come no one has mentioned about the crankshaft sensor cable?? that controls the idle...
  3. I got the LED third brake light and got no codes...as long as you don't have every brake light in LEDs then you should be fine.
  4. This morning when i tried to start my car it has no battery to start. I tried to jump start with another car it started but then the battery died shortly after driving for like 5 mins. Does it mean the battery can't hold charge or the alternator is not working at all?? Should there be any warning lights popping out if the alternator is not working?? I already ordered a new battery i hope it will solve the problem. thanks Gary
  5. my 02 C4S's battery just died on me...i tried jump starting it but it died shortly after. Is that mean the battery is dead or the alternator is not working?? It just happened over night without any symtoms.
  6. right now it saids "guidence deactivated" just wondering is it possible to activate it? I found out in my car's booklet the codes for my PCM 1 does it have anything to do with activating it? btw im located in Hong Kong.
  7. went to my garage and found out there's an ABS code stored in the computer...had it reset and now the lights haven't been popping up at all. Im glad i have my problem free C4S back!
  8. don't think that's related to tires as the light went off only at very slow speed.
  9. mine's a 996 C4S with tiptronic...i googled about this PSM/ABS light thing and it's a really common problem. Some say it's the alternator not giving enough ampere and might even cause the engine to stall.
  10. ABS/PSM light went off once while driving...what could cause this to happen?
  11. my garage helped me ordered a new MAF and that caused the problem...changed back to old one and works perfectly.
  12. Recently my 02 C4S tip. has the stalling at idle problem but now the problem is solved after replacing the crankshaft sensor and the MAF sensor. Now there's a new problem. When i start the car while engine is hot the idle would go up and down between 750-950rpm for about 5 sec and settles at 800rpm which i thought should be normal. After that i don't seem to be getting proper gear changes (for example it won't go from 2nd to 3rd gears at 3000rpm i had to up shift it using tip. button). I really don't know what the problem is hopefully someone here knows what im talking about.
  13. You did not mention your year and model, but Porsche suggest 90,000 miles (`145,000Km) for manual gear box oil changes; that said, more realistically I would be doing it sooner at around 40,000 miles. As you are at 80,000 Km, or about 49,000 miles, you are in the window for a change. Strongly suggest refilling the gearbox with the OEM lube, as it is a rather unique full synthetic product which works very well. mine's a 02 C4S with tiptronic tran...guess it's about time to change oil.
  14. im recently having rough gear changes problem...when is the ideal mileage to have the transmission oil changed?? my clock is at 80,000 km's.
  15. recently replaced the crank sensor and it's been running fine so far (fingers crossed)...hopefully the stalling problem won't happen again.
  16. i was informed that the crankshaft sensor is the problem i will have it replaced...
  17. yes after stalling it struggles to start i had to crank it 2 or 3 times to start it up and the idle speed would be higher at around 1000rpm. Yes i have a stock intake with a k&n air filter replacement.
  18. i just read another post mentioning replacing the air filter with k&n might cause the problem??
  19. i just finished reading this topic about stalling and it has the exact problem as mine. http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/30839-car-does-not-start-easily-after-stalling/?hl=%2B996+%2Bstalling could it be a melted down starter cable or a bad battery?? my battery reads slightly above 12volts in ignition switch position 2 and when running it reads slightly below 14volts is that normal?? im so glad i found the exact problem with another C4S.
  20. omg i have this exact problem!!! So where's this starter cable located??
  21. i have the similar problem here...mine has good stable idle around 850rpm but once the engine is all warmed up it stalls at stops for no reason. I have already replaced the MAF sensor and the egas throttle body but still no luck. Im really pissed since i replaced these parts for nothing!
