  1. Hi koolkat,But which one? There are so many. I did for a Dynavin unit in to my BMW X5 with the CANBUS extension lead and that worked well but BMW never had the in dash navigation prompts. All the multi function steering wheel buttons worked out of the box. I also purchased a 7" unit for my 997 but never fitted it yet as I really like the dash navigation of the original PCM. I got the Navtv MOST interface as that is supposed to make the Bose interface work, albeit without fader control from front to rear, but ai said I never took the plunge just. Now I have just purchased the Cayenne and wondering the same thing.....Which after market unit will interface the best....
  2. Please could someone tell me if the 2012 maps for PCM 2.1 is the latest or is there a newer map set than 2012? I have a Cayenne with the original 2005 map DVD but has the level C (05395) software.
  3. Hi I just purchased a 2006 cayenne turbo and it has a factory fired AUX and iPod fm link. It installed under the lower center armrest tray. The previous owner then ran a AUX cable up to the windscreen mount.....that was the ugly part I had to change. So I startled searching online and found this nice option but as I already have the AUX kit, I then thought about the BT link to remove the need for the cable.....my simple solution was to use my very old i-tech clip that has a 3.5mm Jack out. I plugged in the cable and note have BT link from my phone. Check out this kit though as it is cheaper than the interface kits. On my 997.1 I installed a Viseeo kit that works ok but more involved. http://www.isimplesolutions.com/tranzit-blu-hf-bluetooth-for-any-car.html
  4. And this it the eBay seller that I got my professional Durametric system from, again highly recommended decent vendor: Germanobdtools
  5. Hi, it took me some time to find the eBay seller that I purchased number PIWIS I diagnostic kit from. I actually purchase both the PIWIS and the professional Durametric system. I use both paying on my 997.1 and have programmed the multi function steering wheel and changed other settings with both. Anyway, back to this vendor, I can vouch for him 100% he was very helpful in helping me select the required secondhand Windows XP based laptop and sent me a ready to plug and pay HDD that was set up with the PIWIS software. His Bosch interface and cables are of the highest quality and finally he offered great support with all of my many questions and never tired of answering my emails. So buy with confidence this is the current eBay item number: 181849374841 I'm sure he can advise you on PIWIS II systems if you send him a message. I "played" with downloading the PIWIS II software and tried setting up on my PC but could never get it to run properly. TIP: if you get any system make sure you clone the HDD before playing with the system. This has saved me on two occasions when the laptop/software locked up. I was able to swap HDD and re-clone the drive again.
  6. If you have done 78k I would recommend you change the water pump, mine went at 86k (miles) and then you get the over heating a you pull up and then your stuck on the road. In my case about 2000 miles away from home in Portugal.....
  7. Unfortunately neither of these are Porsche specific, both are "generic OBD II" items, meaning they cannot access Porsche restricted code areas such as service alert reset, air bags, ABS/PSM, etc. It will read and clear generic codes like O2 sensors, MAF, etc. Porsche codes are also included in the App and document, have not tried but respect your advice about the Porsche restricted areas.
  8. I purchased the Porsche Bluetooth OBD2 scanner interface from eBay and obd2 pro from the pay store, its an so that has all the fault codes references in memory This pdf has all the codes if you want a reference: http://www54.zippyshare.com/v/47098905/file.html
