  1. Wross996TT, there is no need for your tone and condescending remarks. I mearly challenged your position, so we all could learn more about your perspective. Sorry if you took it any other way. Yes, I did miss the tour. Hope to do it some day! :)
  2. Loren, thanks for making a great place even better. Not an easy thing to do. Congrats!
  3. I am not too sure this is the best advice. I have never heard this before.
  4. Bmohr, you are a contributing member, so you have access to our TSB's. In there you will find the list of porsche approved oils for brand and viscosity. Porsce changed thier recommendations regarding the 15W50 a few years ago.
  5. Are you going to use a 15W50 in your 986? That is not recommended. If you want to use a 50 weight oil, the only Porsche approved one is Mobil One 5W50.
  6. Best leather care products I have used come from www.colorplus.com.
  7. Have a PPI done with a place that can read the DME and report the over-revs. There are 6 ranges. Range 1 & 2 are OK. If there are any ignitions in range 4-6...take a pass.
  8. Go to the dealer. Have the fault codes read.
  9. Check with Tire Rack for your size. There are probably only a couple that are available. Blizzaks would be very good. Consider dedicated winter rims too.
  10. How slow? What gear? Clutch in or out? You are under warranty. Go to the dealership.
  11. What is downshifting like? That is a +$4,000 option.
  12. I would only use a 0W40 or 5W40 synthetic oil. One that is Porsche approved (there are many beyond Mobil One too). 5W50 Mobil 1 might also be an good choice, and is the only Porsche approved 5W50. I would NOT use a 10W30 or a 5W30. Change the oil at least once per year or every 7,500 miles.
  13. They will look like these: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...c=14539&hl=
  14. It is a great time for cash buyers to be in the Porsche market. Lots of cars for sale. And the 09's are coming out. Porsche sales are down about 25%. C2- is a base Carrera (rear wheel drive) 325 HP C2S- is the S version of the Carrera- 355 HP C4- is a base Carrera with All Wheel Drive 325 HP C4S- is a S version Carrea with All Wheel Drive. 355 HP All of my errors are now fixed. Sorry.
  15. This has made me a little dizzy. I need a nap! :P
  16. Since you have other cars, I would wait. Octane boost won't do much.
  17. That may be true, be the OP asked about the 6 Over Rev Ranges. They are related, but not how you might think. Maybe someone else who is much more knowlegable than me, can explain better.
  18. I don't think so, because the Panameras are not a limited production (or as limited produced) at the GT2's. Right?
  19. Kare, what about the differences with the DME? That to me, would be the bigger concern.
  20. Nice Porsche. Take good care of her.
  21. That back-end will be squirrely "at speed". Be careful.
  22. Tom, here are the ranges for the 997. I am not sure if this is the same for the GT3 but I would bet it is very close: The 6 ranges are: Range 1: 7300-7500 RPM Range 2: 7500-7700 RPM Range 3: 7700-7900 RPM Range 4: 7900-8400 RPM Range 5: 8400-9500 RPM Range 6: 9500-11000 RPM
  23. I like the new Carrera. That's crazy mark-up for the GT2. Imagine the "stones" on that Sales Manager.
