  1. Thanks guys, Sent these guys an email. They don't deliver in NJ... I am thinking about these 2 products to start (my car is black): Z-AIO All-in-one 1 $26.95 $26.95 Z-3 Show Car Polish for Regular Paint 1 $14.95 $14.95 Let me know what you think. Thanks, Gus Gus, why won't they deliver to NJ? Strange. You don't want Z3. You have a clear coat.
  2. Here is another vote for Zaino products. Great company and Sal Zaino is very helpful and a class guy! The Z2 and Z5 I use the most. www.zainobros.com I also use RejeX wax on leading edges (mirrors and front bumper) and on the wheels and wheel barrels.
  3. Too many customers giving them crap about the 20k change interval? Do the 2008 models have direct fuel injection? I've heard that people with other [non-Porsche] cars have noticed fuel diluted oil problems with this technology (at the high performance end). Regards, paul... Paul, no the 987 dose not have direct fuel injection yet in the 2008 MY.
  4. I agree with Cvhs18472. If you want more power, next time buy the "S".
  5. Mffarrell, well good thing you still have warranty left on your car! I don't think the RMS is every permanently fixed.
  6. Franz, do both seats (driver and passanger) feel the same? My seats get plenty hot. I also have an '06. Compare your seats to another car at the dealership. If they feel the same. Too bad. If not, keep pushing the dealership to replace your seats or other parts.
  7. You know what is strange? The 2005-2007 Boxster had a 20,000 mile oil change interval based on Porsche's maintenance book. Now, for 2008 they are saying 12,000. Why the change?
  8. Bob, I did my first oil change at about 1,300 miles. I always do this with my new cars. Overkill? Possibly. Peace-of-mid? Yes, you bet! You should change your oil once every year or between 7,500-10,000 miles, IMHO.
  9. Britairdog, take it to the dealership to fix. That car should still be under warranty.
  10. Westcoaster, I can't see how Porsche would void a warranty for changing the oil more often than required, but I do think changing the oil every 3,000 miles for example could in fact increase wear. I agree with many others that one a year or every 7-10,000 miles, whichever happens first, is the better plan. Now, people who do DE's and etc do a different schedule, and probably should.
  11. Alan, wouldn't the rev-limiter cut-off the fuel at redline? Which is about 7,200 RPM. Should not be speed related but rather RPM dependent. As for the axel ratios, that should be listed in either your owners manual, near the back, or the 2005 sales brochure.
  12. I wait about 11 seconds for the convertible to lower, and then start driving. Keeping the RPM's below 4,000 until the temp gauge tells me the engine is up to operating temperature. I think this is the best and most efficient method. I think this is best for the cats, MAF sensors, spark plugs, just to name a few. This is also consistent with Porsche's Owner's Manual.
  13. Geldbrube, congrats on the new car! The dealership should give the service records to you. As long as they don't give you the prior owners name, address, or credit card info, I don't see what the issue is. Keep in mind, you can only get service records for that specific dealership. If the prior owner went to mutiple dealerships, you would need to get the records from each one. The dealerships are not linked, unless they are owned by the same person/company. Did you purchase from the same dealership that did the service? If so, they should be more willing to work/help you with the service records. You might need to get higher in the food chain, at the dealership, to get the response you are looking for. Be persistant. It is unfortunate that they are forgetting that you are also a future customer. You deserve to be treated better.
  14. Congrats on the new car! Good job checking the tires pressures. Well, the general rule for the effect of temperature on tire pressure is a one (1) pound change per 10 degrees (F) of temp change. So, no, the 4 PSI difference you are showing is not temp related (50 vs 68). Recommended tire pressures have been discussed a lot here, and doing a few searches will yield you a lot of good info from other drivers. Use a good quality, digital, tire pressure gauge. This should be your reference point. Make sure you follow the proper engine & car brake-in procedure stated in your owners manual.
  15. I know this will never happen, but one way to cut-down on this stuff getting stolen is for people to not buy the crap when it goes on e-Bay. Not everyone on eBay is bad and saving money & getting a good deal is always nice. But let's face it, this stuff gets stolen, goes on sale on eBay, and then people want to replace the stolen parts with an eBay purchase to save a buck. Dangerous cycle.
  16. Exactly, I agree with Loren and Bostonduce! That's why I asked, "What wrong with the OEM filter". You can't get something for nothing. Why muck around with a vital part, like an engine air filter, for an $$ engine and $$$$ performance car.
  17. Nick, what did you add? A different exhaust? I thought the 987S/987 Limited Editions already had PSE.
  18. White987S: That is precisely what I have been wishing for, but I'm not "with it" when it comes to these programs. Anymore details on Photoshop? Is the program expensive or difficult to learn to use? Regards, Maurice. Hi Maurice, there is a fellow forum member here by the name, Djomlas. He is a wizard (and a very nice person) with photoshop. Send him a PM, and ask for his assistance. I'm sure he'll help you out.
  19. You guys should ask someone to Photoshop your color wheel ideas onto your car's photo.
  20. One more piece of advice, don't worry too much about Navigation. You could always get a Garmin- GPS, for example. Top-of-the-line for about $650. Porsche charges over $3K for its Nagivation package (PCM). Plus, GPS is portible to your other cars and rentals.
