Opinion on tires: Anybody happily ditched P-Zeros ?

Guys, I am wondering if anybody switched from Pirellis to - say - Michelins or another brand and found the ride to be better...

I find the 18" P-zeros to be incredibly harsher than the Michelin PS2 I had on a previous porsche (also on 18"). They transmit a lot of road noise, go "doingggg" on each expansion joint, feel a little squirelly in general until fully warm, and just ride rough...

Curious if it could be tires, because my old PS2s felt so much nicer....

Yes - I run Michelin PS2s, never going back. Hate pirellis, they are noisy as hell and they wear quicker than any other tire. Have also had decent experience with Dunlop (but only in a snow tire). The French make a hell of a pneu!

Had Bridge S02 on my 993 on was very happy with them, I now run Mich PS2 on my 996 and I'm very happy with these too...

I still have to find someone happy with the Pirelli...

Only drawback: the PS2 are much more expensive than the Pirelli (at least in europe, don't know in the US)

Paid around 800 euros for my last set of two rear PS2 ... :-((

Thanks guys, that confirms my thoughts. I was reluctant to experiment with new tires ($1000) to find out the problem was not the pirellis, but it really seems that way ! I'll wear them out and swap to Michelins or bridgestones, two brands I've had much success with in the past !

DItto to your previous responses. I am also planning to get rid of the Pzero's on my 2002 C4S as they ar ethe noisiest tires I have ever owned and wear charactreristics are also poor.

GO for the Michelins or Bridgestones ( I will buy Michelins).

Are yours the P-Zero Rosso N4's?

Just wore down my set of PZero rossos and will definitely try the PS2 now. Heard only good thing about the at track days.

No one seemed to like the PZeros except for the hardcore track guys with lots of $. The grip is supposed to be better, as it has a bit softer rubber (according to them - and thats why they also wear faster).

The PZeroes are also very poor traction when cold.
