Dead Battery-What Now?

Recommended Posts

I inadvertantly left the key on in my 2000 911 Millenium Edition for at least 24 hours. Of course the battery is dead as a door nail. What procedures will I have to go through to get everything working again? I know this probably will affect all the programing of the radio, navigation, etc. HELP!

To be honest I have pulled the battery cable whiile doing upgrades to my car, for the most about 3 hours. The only thing I had to do was do the radio securuty code, everything seemed to hold it's settings. Not knowing how long you car was without power, may detemine complete programming or not.

As posted above, you will need the radio code, but you will also probably have to "reset" the windows (simple matter of pressing the window button continuously for an additional 5 seconds after it reaches it highest point). The engine may run rough for a short while, as the DME resets the fuel trims, etc., but that will happen automatically.

Thank you all. I might have to get the radio code from Loren as I don't have it. My mechanic who is doing some other work believes he can get it from the dealer. If that isn't the case, Loren to the rescue, I hope.

Raloise:

Just post your radio model number, type, and serial # on the following thread : http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...c=14539&hl=

Regards, Maurice.
