997TT intercoolers same as 996GT2?

Recommended Posts

All I have heard it is the same cores but no sure if the same cores as the GT2 996 and they make some changes probably on the ends, but heard also the hoses and everything on the 996TT will fit, want to know if they are an up grade or maybe just the same stuff

Great!!! for that mounting what do you do? Any difference you can notice when you changed them? Earlier boost, more boost, etc?

Unless i'm missing something here, how is an intercooler going to give your more boost or spool up faster?? They are just what it says on the tin.......... a cooler. So an upgrade only will make the oil cooling more efficient etc, not improve your performance? If you run bigger turbo's you need better intercoolers to keep the oil temp around the turbo's within limits so you 'maintain' optimum performance and dont damage anything. But intercoolers alone wont give you more BHP??

why do you think intercoolers would give you earlier boost?

if that's what you want you should be looking at ecu flash with hybrid turbos

upgraded intercoolers only help you on a hot day / during track session, if you have upgraded turbos

AIR INTERCOOLERS, WHO IS TALKING ABOUT OIL INTERCOOLERS?????......

There are air intakes and intercoolers...different animals. The ICs cool the charged air, lower the temp. the denser the air and hence more power can be made through more efficient combustion. The stock ICs on a turbo are fine unless you:

1. track

2. drive in extremely hot ambient temps.

3. have high hp mods.

The turbo ICs are essentially heat exchangers Air to liquid in water cooled Porsches. Intakes bring cold air into the system.

I believe the ICs on a GT2 are more capable than a TT (996 or 997).
