horn blows twice

zlawman,2001 seal grey tip,34000 miles. As I indicated in an earlier post I'm having remote trouble. So, before spending $230 at a local dealer to replace the key head, I decided to manually lock/unlock the car. Now when I lock/unlock or open from the cockpit the horn blows twice. The manual, of course, says got to stealer for remote work. Is this necessary or can I do it myself?

This normally means that something is not secure and the alarm system is telling you to check it. Perhaps you have a sensor on the trunk or something not making the contact?

A double beep means the car thinks there is a fault in the alarm system.

Can you lift the lid of the compartment between the seats without pressing its lock?

Edit: Please ignore, the lid would have caused a single beep.

I agree with Tool Pants, PIWIS tester or similar tool can give you the fault codes and shows the way to go.
