I've done all the searches, and downloaded all the documentation, but I guess i'm a little stupid today. Can someone just give me a simple answer. Can I install the Traffic Pro Nav in my 2001 996 which has the CDR220 with the CD Changer and the DSP?

I am mechanically inclined enough to do the work, just want to make sure it can be done. Thanks.

I did all the research myself and I have the same setup in my MY00 and even called Becker. I was told it is stratight plug and play. I am probably going to get the traffic pro in the next couple weeks. (still teetering between this and the more expensive LCD screen setups that alpine, pioneer, etc., have).

No tax?  No shipping?  Did you do the Crutchfield special?

The unit at Cruthfeild, is Harman Kardon the same as Becker unit?

Harman/Becker Automotive Systems GmbH is a subsidiary of US-based Harman International Industries Inc.

Harmon/Becker Automotive Systems GmbH also owns:

AKG

harman/kardon

Infinity

JBL

Lexicon

Soundcraft

Just make sure you get the antenna unit. As I recall I think there was one model where you had to order the antenna separately. And, of course, you need that 6ft piece of wire...

I just purchased the Traffic Pro from Crutchfield and started looking at my stock harness tonite. I have a CDR220 with DSP and when I take out the stock radio, the harness is missing the wires for the GAL and the Reverse wire.

Am I supposed to take out those two wires from the harness they provide and put them into the stock harness that is already attached? How do you get the individual wires out of the harness?

Then it sounds like I need to hooked up the GAL and the Reverse wires and then I'm ready to try it out?

Thanks in advance,

Will
