Is it the battery?

Recommended Posts

The alarm went off on my 2001 C4 when I started the engine today. The clock has reset to 0.00am and it wasn't eager to start, but ran OK when it did. The meter says it's charging at 14V.

If I have to buy a new battery any suggestions (UK market). Do I need to buy Porsche?

Thanks Mike

I had the same problem when my C4 battery was about 3 years old. Once a wihile, after the car started, not just the clock, also the trip computer reset everything to zero. Other than that, battery worked without any problem and the car ran fine. I replaced the battery after 4 years without warranty and the problem went away since then.

Looks like it could be the original battery from new. Any recommendations over replacement brand or should I stick with oem.

cheers

Not sure about what is available in the UK - I would stick with a major brand. OEM is just 3 times the cost and does not last any longer.
