Dashboard Wrinkle

Recommended Posts

Ok, maybe I can approach this from another angle. Does anyone know a good Porsche upholstry shop in the San Francisco Bay Area, or should I just bring it to a dealership? (but they probably sub it out).My dash bubbled and wrinkled over on the piece above the instrument cluster. Also, does anyone know if this one piece comes off buy itself as it is raised and looks somewhat independent of the rest of the dash?

This part does come off by itself, less than 30-40 minutes for the first time. Do a search on how to remove the hazard surround and switch, this is the hardest part - be careful, the leather "dents" very easily. I would try a leather shop first, there is a Rennlist site sponsor that may be able to help (no affiliation).

If you remove the pod be sure to put towels around the surrounding surfaces to protect them. Everything scratches easily. But other than the hazard switch it's easy. Surprisingly, the whole car basically snaps together.

Your problem is a piece of cake compared to the one presented by MagnusB.
