Alienz, still having problems with your top?

The top control/relay on ebay is for your year. It has been plugged into a car even if the seller says it is new. I can see the scratch marks on the electrical pins in the ebay picture that happens when a relay is plugged into the socket. When an electrical part is plugged in it is considered used, but that ebay one may work fine.

Find another local 1997-1999 Boxster and swap relays and see if that is your problem.

When you say it does not stop at the right time what do you mean?  When you close/open the top the motor will run for about 2 seconds longer than you think it should.

Yes that's exactly my problem. I can't use the top now, it's too cold but I want to get it ready for May.

Unfortunately ToolPants I still have problems, haunted top. It works fine for few weeks then the timing is screwed. When I cloe the top I don't keep pressing the top button until the dash light goes off becuase that's when I hear the noises.
