New battery doesn't quite fit

Recommended Posts

I installed the Wal-mart Everstart Maxx-H7 (the one that's supposed to fit 94R as suggested in previous post in thread 'battery dead') this weekend but found that the mount doesn't quite touch the battery, thus there's a 0.5 cm gap from side-to-side. The battery does slide despite its weight.

Do I need to insert something to fill in the gap? The wal-mart dude placed some circular rubber washers on both sides of the battery to help secure it but it hardly seems like a good long-term fix. Does anyone have a different solution for this? Perhaps a new bracket mount? Maybe it doesn't matter but just want to check

Note that most car batteries are manufactured by Johnson Controls Inc, including Walmart's EverStart Maxx, Autozone's Duralast, Advance Auto Parts' AutoCraft, and Interstate batteries. JCI also makes many original equipment batteries and they own Optima batteries too.
