New 996 Owner with no owners manual?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just bought a 1999 996 Cab & am really enjoying it. Between the radio & the dash (as well as under the dash), there are a lot of buttons. The 996 didnt come with an owners manual & I am not exactly sure what is what. Is there an online manual, or somewhere that would explain what the buttons do?

Is the button my the drivers left the eject button?

Thanks,

Rich

:welcome:

Porsche did not start making Owners Manuals available in PDF format until 2003.

You can still buy a MY1999 Owners Manual from your dealer for only $20 - for MY1999 996 cars order WKD-996-120-99.

You can download a copy of your radio manual here. Just choose the model that shows on your radio faceplate.

Contributing members of renntech.org can download the 2003 manual here:

http://www.renntech.org/forums/files/file/601-my03-carrera-996-owners-manual/

The 1999 is similar in many respects as the 2003, but not exactly the same.

The 1999 is a bit more "analog" and engine capacities are different (oil/power/etc.) among other differences.

Sunset or Suncoast Porsche used to be a good source for inexpensive manuals, but I don't believe so any more.

Ebay is probably your best bet if you want a hard copy.
