Daytime Driving Lights question for Porsche 996 4S

Recommended Posts

Starting January 1st 2014, the law change in Switzerland (Europe) and lights must be turned on during the day.

Anybody know if the double relay P/N: 99661511100 used for Canadian models M606 can be installed on US and EU models?

Thanks in advance for your advices and/or workaround.

Hi Loren,

Thank you very much for your prompt response. I will talk tomorrrow to my Porsche dealer to understand if the relay slots 6 and 7 are pre-cabled for EU and US cars. If this is the case I will order the relay and have a try.

Will keep the forum aware soon.

I don't know about Porsche this is my first one, but on the BMW's you just have to replace the relay with the Canadian one. This I know and have done it. It causes the high beam light to come on at a reduced voltage.

According to Bentley pg.97-27 relay panel 1 has relays 6 and 7 as daytime running lights hopefully they have wired it a volt meter should tell you. You will have to find the part number, maybe one off the Canadian members can help.

I have a 1999 911 C4 Cabriolet that originally was exported to Canada.  Later it was moved to the U.S.  My car has the litronic headlight option.  The headlights come on when the car is started, whether or not the headlight switch is used.  Is this the P/N 99661511100 relay mentioned above?  If so, how can I correct this so the headlights only work when switched on ?

I have a similar situation as Mr. Whitney.  My 2004 996 originally sold in Canada has the fog lights on all the time.  I removed the relay to kill them (permanently) but would like to return them to switchable.  There is actually a wire cut at the headlight switch that I suspect is the fog light wire.
