I had an oil change on the P!G (M1 synthetic) before a trip and that's when the trouble started... The driver side wheel well makes a gentle creaking sound at idle RPM, which seems to disappear at higher RPM. It sounded like a small frog quietly chirping in the wheel well and I was worried it was a turbo. When we popped the hood, there was sound of a vacuum near the intake. The PCV to crankase hose (part #5) collapses while the engine is running and the oil fill port sucks strong vacuum if the fill cap is removed. My local independent mechanic (I'm some distance from a Porsche specialist) found that hose 14 and 15 are both cracked and identified their failure as causing the sound. Cause of failure is presumed age/heat. Since replacing those two components are $370-400 in hoses, is there something else we should be looking into as a cause of these pipe failures? Searching the forums I came upon a discussion that makes me think maybe we should be looking at the PCV valve, air oil separator membrane, and the diverter valves? I'm wrench-familiar with NA cars and new to turbos so I'd appreciate your input. Is the restricted airflow or vacuum interruption causing turbo noise? Has anyone else seen this and what else should I be checking? We do see the boost gauge work normally or at least what it has historically (under acceleration it hits 0.8 bar/pegged and then holds near 0.6-0.7) before these issues started. The rest of the car seems to work well, aside from the a sticky secondary air injection check valve on the passenger side. Hi Guys. I am new to the forum and proud new owner of a beautiful 06 Cayenne S. I love my new Porsche, but am slowly working on fixing a few minor issues... First of all, my driver door latch is defective or at least the switch in there is. The vehicle never knows when the driver door is open, no dome lights or door ajar switch or chime. I have already purchased a brand new replacement latch assembly. Any instructions or tutorials on the fastest and easiest way to replace this? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hey yall! I'm new here, long time lurker but now that I've come to a bunch of problems I cannot get resolve with the DIY or tutorial I was able to find on here or youtube I decided to open a post with my issues and see what you guys think! I have some (prolly) simple ones and some really weird ones. A little bit of context: I just bought my cayenne turbo (2004) 2 months ago from its 1st owner that neglected it for the last 3-5 years of ownership. I have done a lot of mechanical work on the car ( I can list everything if needed). These issues are mainly cosmetic and quality of life ones. 1st: The side view mirror shells. Are they suppose to be this flimsy ? the half shell does a plastic rattling noise when I close the door (mainly on the driver side) https://streamable.com/kg8zt 2nd: Steering column adjustment. Now this one I read a lot about resetting the seat control by tilting it and stuff, done it, did not work. It did clear my memory settings for the seats but not reset the motor for the steering wheel. As you can see, it can go in and out, not up and down.... https://streamable.com/aciky 3rd: The PoS that is called the PCM Radio. I think the previous owner finger f*ck the hell out of the radio system because, well... It's not working great. Main issue it that the time keeps resetting and does not fallow the real clock, it just gets stuck and the date is now missing but used to be stuck in year 2000 (for a 2004 model) It's asking me to insert the GPS disk to get it to update I think now... https://streamable.com/qjyax https://streamable.com/pr748 4th: The worst. Hi - on my 06 CTTS, over the last few months I noticed occasionally awful smell inside the cabin while driving. My research so far indicates that it is emitted from vents when AC system is on. Believe it smells like sth. burned, and is not present when I switch AC system completely off. Did anybody experience this before on a 955 Cayenne, Turbo or Turbo S ? Thanks in advance. PS.: side note. It may be coincidence or completely unrelated, but as far as electrical problems I am noticing for about comparable amount of time that the horn is dead (silence when pressing the steering wheel center...). -
Why on this Renntech site are we calling the Cayenne a 9PA or 9PA! and not the designation I thought was appropriate 955 and 957? I know this site has dedicated Porsche enthusiasts on it who believe the only real Porsche is a rear engine air cooled.... Is this a way not to include the Cayenne in the typical Porsche three number designation? Just curious, not serious, I assume there is a good reason. The rest of the world seams to use 955 and 957. -
Just purchased a 2008 CTTS and the previous owner is running a staggered set up Front:275/40/20 Rear:315/35/20. The current tyres Goodyear Wrangler F1 need replacement and I would appreciate some suggestions from the members here. -The 1st and expensive choice: P-Zeros at 1250 Euros -Continental Contisport SUV: at around the same price -And a guy at a local store suggested Atturos AZ850 which are at around 630 Euros. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?? Thanks in advance -
Hi to all in the forum, I am Chris from Greece and I am looking for a piece of advice. I have found a CTT 2005 with 35000 miles that a bank sells after being abandoned for 2+ years and not in garage. As the price is tempting and I am looking forward to spend some cash to bring back to the road. I recently bought a 04 Cayenne S and they came with 18" OEM wheels style 67263 and they have a offset of 57mm and are 8" wide as per specs, they had quite a few scratches. I found another clean 18" OEM wheels style # 67402 and they have a offset of 53mm and are 8" wide as well. Will I face any problems if I go with new 53mm wheels instead of 57mm offset wheels? Is it better to have to bigger offset or smaller offset for same size wheels? I have both one and I need to get rid of one of them ASAP. Please help.
