  1. You should read TSB 8/02 1360 Dual Mass Flywheel Check Procedure -- dated Dec 13, 2002. Porsche AG warns dealers about replacing flywheels that are not defective. Have you considered an independent shop? My guess is that an indy will do it for less than $1000.
  2. Sorry to disappoint, but having worked for the worlds largest "mouse company" I don't think there is much hope unless you can find someone that wants to buy the other 999,950 units.

    GT3 ECU Pins

    Does anyone know what's the pin #/wire for the tach signal at the DME for a MY04 GT3? Just as I quoted above - it is easiest to take it off the OBD II connector. If you must take off the DME it is pin D17 (same violet/green wire.
  4. I suggest to go to tire rack and read the section on Uniform Tire Quality Grade Standards (UTQG) (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=48). The UTQG specifies the wear grade, traction grade and temperature grade of a specific tire. Then look a the UTQG ratings for the Porsche approved tires and the UTQG rating for the tire you would like to purchase. My feeling is that if the the UTQG meets or exceeds the Porsche N rated tires then you are likely okay to use those tires.
  5. Boxster and Carrera doors have different part numbers - so there is likely a difference. Porsche would surely use the same part if they could...

  7. You do not have a bad sensor - that sensor is telling you where the problem is. Your fuel/air mixture is so rich that sensing is up to its lean threshold. That means, you are idling too rich and the DME can not correct for it. P1130 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 2 – Below Limit Here are potential causes of a P1130: – Incorrect signal from MAF sensor – Fuel pressure too high – Fuel injector leaking – EVAP canister purge valve open I suggest you start by cleaning the MAF. That has been covered here many many many times - so do a search and get some good tips on cleaning.
  8. If the codes did not work then it could be the serial number is wrong. If the serial number is right and the codes don't work then you will need to see a dealer or Becker.
  9. You can put 3.4 mufflers on any 3.4 liter car. You can also put 3.6 mufflers on any 3.4 liter car. You can NOT put 3.4 mufflers on a 3.6 liter car.
  10. Looks like it is the same part number. You might double-checking any mounting differences with your dealer. I think the seal to the front windshield is different.
  11. 996.505.563.01.01C Left air inlet (in satin black) 996.505.564.01.01C Right air inlet (in satin black) 996.505.561.03.01C Center air inlet (in satin black) You will need the u-clamps that hold these in place also (999.507.751.02) If you are putting the TT/C4S bumper on a narrow body you will also need to cut bumper reinforcement (or buy the C4S version).

  13. Here are the parts you will need - more or less depending on if you have a Tiptronic or X51 (which would add the third radiator ducting).
  14. On an egas car that is normal. The DME will adjust it depending on temperature, air flow, etc. , etc..

  16. You need to get the fault codes read. Many parts stores will do this for free. Many times there will be more than one fault code -- report back here with all the fault codes.

  18. From the Service Manual (alignment specs). If your paper from the dealer does meet these - then they are wrong. Danger of injury and damage to property due to malfunctions in the PSM control range if the steering angle sensor is not calibrated or is calibrated incorrectly! - Calibrate steering angle sensor with wheels in straight−ahead position with the Porsche System Tester 2! - The steering angle sensor actual value must be checked after a suspension alignment where no changes were made to the wheel alignment values! Note: - The following values relate to the empty weight, i.e., full fuel tank, vehicle with spare wheel/collapsible wheel (not GT2) and tools, but without driver and without additional weight. - A caster adjustment is normally not necessary and is therefore not present. - The toe-difference angle value is also influenced by the vehicle height! For this reason the measured result must be evaluated accordingly! No action is ecessary in the case of small deviations from the toe−difference angle required value, as long as the value to the right and the left is almost the same!
  19. How many miles on the car? That sounds like a normal usage to me. If you are really concerned by a 3rd party warranty.
  20. Have you tried Sunset Imports? (Porsche parts at Dealer Cost) I think around $240 from them...
  21. :clapping: I thought so. Both the throttle body and tube should be clean and free from dirt or grease (grease attracts dirt). I usually just put both hands around it and move it back and forth until I get one (barely) side started - then push straight on.
