  1. Not according to the TSB for the Aerokit Cup or Aerokit II. C4S, GT2, GT3, TT all get two struts but regular C2 and C4 do not... go figure I have a factory installed Aerokit on my MY99 car and one strut has held just fine.
  2. You can get a very high quality image suitable for posting that is under 100k. Regular members are limited to 250k per post. Contributing Members get 1000k (1MB) per post. How big are your images?
  3. There is a (non-printable) list in the Porsche parts catalog -- by model - by year. It usually has 99.5% of them. If you want help on these then I will need to know exact model, year and US/Canada car or RoW car.
  4. No, not sealed. Porsche does not supply internal parts for either the 5 speed or 6 speed Boxster/Carrera transmissions. Only limited parts are available for the GT3 transmission (mainly gear sets). Porsche claims that it is cheaper and better for the customer to get a rebuilt (exchange) transmission from their vendor.
  5. 1. Remove the door panel to gain access to the holding clip. 2. Press out clip with a plastic spatula. 3. Pull off door seal on the outside. 4. Carefully pull the seal out of the clips along the door contour. First position door seal on the outside at the top edge of the door and push it on. Rest of the installation is the reverse of above.
  6. All the rest of those parts on the that list ("Brake Pads for Racing Circuit Use") are Porsche Motorsports part numbers. Sorry...
  7. I guess so... thew parts list does not show the felt covers.
  8. I'm very happy with the S03's. I'm running 225/40 and 285/30. Only thing I would do different is go with 235/40 in front next time.
  9. Porsche dealers usually warranty all of their shop work. Show them the documentation on the previous fix.
  10. Then I would suggest you take it your dealer for a software upgrade (that only they can do).
  11. The MAF is on the round tube that goes to the throttle body. The connection comes off by squeezing the two tabs on the connector while pulling. Some folks have been able to loosen everything in the car and lift the top half enough to get the old filter out and the new filter in. I personally like to take the whole thing out and clean it out before putting a clean filter in.
  12. Here is the diagram for the 996 lid. The 997 has the lock in the center instead of the left edge. Still 11 screws to release the outer cover so you can get at the two screws that hold the latch.
  13. It is very similar to the 996 glove box. Remove the screws on the inside of the lid to get access to the two screws that hold the latch/lock mechanism. Remember this is a keyed lock that matches your ignition key.
  14. The Comfort Control has nothing to do with the radio. A loose ground or bad radio is more likely. There is also a TSB for sporadic failures with the Bose system and PCM2 (if you you have those).
  15. dj996 - sorry I had forgotten about that write-up. I guess I should pin it.
  16. From the Carrera Approved Summer Tire & Wheel TSB (dated 8-10-2004): If it isn't on the list then it likely won't fit.
  17. Here is my understanding... The Porsche System Tester 2 (PST2) is made for Porsche by Bosch. Porsche has now changed over to a newer version called "PIWIS". The original PST2 was derived from the Bosch KTS500 and the newer PIWIS is derived from the Bosch KTS 650. It uses a specialized OS that's not quite Windows. You need to dedicate a laptop to the application. It also requires a hardware interface PCMCIA card. Independent shops can purchase the testers and I have heard prices from $4000 - $8000 for the tester (with PCMCIA card and cables). The software updates come via CD subscription and run about $2500 per year. Updated are as required by not more than one per month and usually much less. I think Tool Pants has more pics of the PIWIS and the interface cards.
  18. Well... the strut that comes on a Carrera (standard) and the GT3 Cup Cars are the same (see below). So if a Cup Car does not need an additional strut brace why would a Carrera? I rest my case. :soapbox:
  19. Although likely possible - probably not practical from a financial point or time and effort. You don't have the wiring in the harness for the relays, switches and control indicator, the wheel sensors, the rate-of-turn sensor, the lateral acceleration sensor, the steering angle sensor, the brake booster pump, the DME program changes, or control module.
  20. I think all you need is the RTS (986 801 055 01 - updated part number) and one of carriers: Ski Holder (996 801 091 00) Bicycle Holder (000 044 000 48) (updated part number) Surfboard Holder (996 801 019 00)
  21. If your car is a US/Canada car and you want an official list then you can order a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. The cost id about $95 as I recall but they will send you an official statement of what factory options came with the car. Here is a link to download the order form PCNA Certificate of Authenticity Or, you could look for a sticker under your front (should also be one in the original owners manual) that has a list of codes on it (i.e. 030, 696, etc.etc.). Post those codes here and we can help decipher them.
  22. Looks like it should be going to the battery vent. Does your battery have a vent? - it should.
