  1. Front parking light (up to MY '01): Shape W, Output 5 W Front parking light (Litronic, Bi-Xenon headlight as from MY '02): Shape H, Output 6 W
  2. An RMS change takes: 4 hours - if they have the parts in stock and the technican is trained. 1-2 days - if they have to order the parts. (why not wait until the parts arrive?). 2 days - 2 months - if they have to (order and) replace the engine.
  3. My first thoughts are: Bad gas (octane too low - knocking?) or a bad ignition switch...

  5. Most common cause I've heard about is corrosion or loose antenna connections. If it's AM reception, then there is a TSB that details a Suppression Kit that needs to be installed on pre Oct 1998 build cars.

  9. The original ones are only available as "use" stock - that is, only what dealers may have. The silver/leather (not aluminum look) are available as is the version that was used from MY00 to MY02. I will need the color you want to get you the right part number.

  11. I've added a new section to the OBD II section that gives a table of Porsche System Tester(s) codes and their cross-reference to P-Codes. Useful when the service technican gives use a two or three digit code that is not a (Standardized DTC SAE J 2012) P-Code. This listing is also useful to related P-Codes, to determine fault types and whether the MIL (CEL) light on, off or flashing with a specific code.I think I transferred everything ok but let me know if you see typos or other mistakes.Porsche OBD II P-Codes Section

According to the manual: 27 Oxygen sensing, area 1 Cylinders (1 - 3), P1123 (Short to ground below lower limit/lean mixture threshold) - MIL is on, emission relevant fault 35 Oxygen sensing, area 1 Cylinders (4 - 6), P1125 (Short to ground below lower limit/lean mixture threshold) - MIL is on, emission relevant fault Possible trouble areas: - Fuel pressure too high. - Fuel injector leaking. - EVAP canister purge valve open. I'll try to get the Fault Text table online in the Pcode area in the next few days. It doesn't have solutions but it does show how the codes relate to each other.
  13. If you are looking for factory manuals and they are not supplied by Porsche -- then they are bootleg. There are some third party manuals out there but they are not very good (IMHO).
  14. I think that was on the GT3 ClubSport (M003) only. The same feature is available on the GT3 RS (RoW only). Unfortunately, it is factory installed so no instructions.
  15. Since it is both and flicking the switch seems to help - then the switch seems like a logical choice (as adsach said). Another possibility is that the socket where the lights plug in (inside the fender) may be corroded or dirty. In at least one case I saw where one of the holders allowed the socket to push back when the light was pushed in and the light was intermittent.
  16. Have a look at the 996 DIY here as it is the same process for a Boxster. The Motive is a great little tool for the DIYer. It allows you to put brake fluid in the container and then put pressure in the container so that one person can bleed the brakes and clutch without the worry of getting air into the system.
  17. If I remember right it is an 8 mm allen bolt from the bottom. I think the later cars may have a cap on the bottom that needs to come out first.
  18. Yes, the side panels just pull off. The batwing will come out but sometimes it helps to pry behind it with a butter knife (non sharp prying tool).

  20. According to PET - XNG is instrument surround in leather. I think Scouser's list is the one from Kindel and includes most of the old car codes - some of which were reused on newer cars.
  21. My advice (for what it's worth)... 1. Make sure that the tire installer has worked on Porsche's before. Some of these guys look at them and don't have a clue how to lift one. 2. Make sure that their tire mounting machine does not touch the rims. Like a Hunter TC 350 Tire Mounting Machine. 3. Make sure they have a high end Hunter GSP 9700 Road Force Measurement Wheel Balancer or better. 4. Find a good speed/alignment shop. A professional 4 wheel alignment should run about $160. These are usually the folks that do all the race cars in the area.
  22. He took the clip off (or it wasn't there) that holds the reverse cable connector to the white plastic block. For MY04 a different cable and connector is used as the C4S has LSD. PET shows a special clip only for LSD cars.
  23. Yes, for MY99 options 220 - Locking differential (40%), 222 - Traction Control and 224 - Automatic Locking Differential always went together. The LSD (option 220) was always sold with Traction Control the forerunner of PSM.
