  1. Have a look at TSB 1/02 6117 Modified Rear Hardtop Locks (dated 10-11-02). This TSB shows how to replace them so it should give you an idea as to what would be needed to install them.
  2. Any good electronics contacts cleaner should work fine. Also, make sure that none of the pins have pushed out of the connector socket in the car. This sometimes happens on older cars and the pin lock usually needs to be bent back out a little to keep the pin in the socket.

  4. Dec 6, 2004 Updated 997 Carrera and Carrera S. Both now include the newly announced Cabriolet versions.
  5. I believe the V6 Cayenne only has one drain plug (on the side of the oil pan). Here is the filter - note this is a different filter than is used on other Porsche models. The filter part number is: 955 107 561 00. It should include the o-ring gasket (955 107 444 00).
  6. Thanks... that site is some help but I had a 1976 911S and it doesn't show a 1976 911S model. What I need is models (i.e. 911, 911E, 911T, 911S, etc.) and body styles (i.e. coupe, cab, conv, targa, speedster, etc.) for various years (not just 911's).
  7. 964 section has been added. For the Garage I need to get all the possible model names/configurations for each year and car. If you know where i can easily get this list please let me know... otherwise it's going to be a lot of work.
  8. Get the gearbox model number if you can. G930 is a turbo 4 speed and G915 is the 5 speed. My RoW parts list only shows G930 or G915 for MY1980.
  9. 1. If you have the replacement switch ready you should lose very little oil - rememeber this is 75W-90 gear oil and is very thick. 2. Yes - according to my Oct 2004 parts list.
  10. Yes the Becker 2600 is the same as the CDC-3 (just without the Porsche logo). I don't know the Becker Mexico MD very well but as far as I know it does support CD changers. Have you tried cycling through the menu on the radio (after the CD player is installed)? Perhaps you need to set something on a menu?
  11. A single mass flywheel is a little harder to drive for the average person. You need a few more revs and practice to make clean starts. If you plan on racing then it is the ticket - if not, it might be a pain around town.

  14. N Rating is a tire approval mark provided by Porsche when they have tested the tires to meet their specifications for handling, traction, and wear. Tire makers "N ratings" are only for the specific tire and model. When a tire maker changes a tire they must get it re-certified with Porsche - so an N2 (N3, N4, etc.) are certifications of newer tire by the same maker. For a MY99 Carrera Approved Summer Tires are: Front: 205/50 ZR 17 Rear: 255/40 ZR 17 Bridgestone Potenza S-02A N4 Directional Continental SportContact 2 N2 Specific side only Michelin Pilot Sport N2 Directional Pirelli PZero Rosso N3 Specific side only Approved Winter Tires are: Front: 205/50 R 17 89 V M+S Rear: 255/40 R 17 98 V XL M+S Pirelli Winter W240 Snowsport N1
  15. My guess would be wiring to the radiator fan or the windshield washer hose or the main release cable (inside the shielded cable). Item 12 is the emergency release - item 11 is the normal release cable.
  16. On all US cars it is on the passenger side (unless someone moved it). It should not be black it should be a braided steel cable with a small loop on the end.
  17. You don't say what year car you have but there is a TSB for for both front and rear windscreen seals on early cars. In some cases the rear seal was missing a foam rubber cord. In both cases the fix is to remove the windows and replace damaged and/or missing seals.
  18. Installing PCM2 requires wiring and adding an antenna to the spoiler. Have a look at TSB 4/04 9110 Porsche Communication Management 2 (PCM2) Installation Instructions (dated 3-26-2004).

  20. Usually you need to pinch a tab (or two) or slide a latch to remove the connector.
