  1. Probably rust between the shock absorber rod and the top mount. Try soften with penetrating oil or similar product.
  2. The temperature is approx. 85 C regardless the outside temperature, the ventilation holes to the radiators are real dirt bags, remove the front shell - the air ducts - separate the airco radiators from the water radiators and clean till it all looks like new. Do a test drive after reinstalling.
  3. All the pieces shown are interchangeable separately.
  4. Try out whit an other throttle body, both Cayenne S and Turbo have the same body.
  5. Hi The first service: 30.000 km or 2 years what ever come first, an oil change between is not necessarily but not forbidden! The running-in procedure is notting special and is explained in the manual, however all turbo's have a little oil consumption dont by surprised.
  6. The switch in the interior light unit ( makes contact with the hook of the soft top when fully closed )
  7. The same length for both rods, exactly the same position for the connections ( looks like boomerangs ) on the gearing. Activate the top and look Wat the cover ( metal shell ) does, to synchronized use the cables, pull them out of the central located motor and turn by hand till you succeed the perfect synchronisation. It most by clear that you use a set of new cables, thy are the source of all the problems.
  8. Hi It is not a switch but a connector ho is located on the A pillar nearby the door hinges, look out for the pins some have the size of a needle. If it is to difficult to do go to a dealer or an electrician. Success.
  9. I see that you have changed the coolant without the special vacuum tool, so your problem are rather air bubbles. The best you can do is jack up the rear end of the car, remove the black plastic plate with the M 6 bolt on the coolant tank and open the press. valve by pulling on the metal ring, top up the tank and close the valve, let the engine running and look Wat the coolant level does, when dropping : top up, when rising : close the filler cap. Let the engine running till hot whit, the AIRCO OFF, and wait till the fans on the front are activated while you keep an eye on the temp. gauge. Let the engine cool off and top up. I dont believe in a cracked tank, in this case you got 2 liter of coolant in the trunk and only a few drips on the floor (986)
  10. If there is something wrong with the switch ( on top nearby the interior light ) , you got a problem with both windows. In your case it is only one window with a problem, mostly a corrosion problem in the electric connectors in the A pillars especially in country's with a lot of rain.
  11. Are you sure that the noise comes from the front? If yes, don't forget to check the front differential.
  12. It gives no problem to get ( approx. 8 L ) the fresh oil in the engine. In Belgium is 5W-50 Mobil 1 for turbo's and GT's mostly used to reduce oil consumption.
  13. Mechanical probably not, electronically ( ABS TRAC.CONTR. etc. ) on the contrary can give problems because the outline of the orig. front wheels and the transformed rear wheels are perhaps to big.
  14. Oil and filter change on a 997TT and 997GT3 is exactly the same as on a 996TT and 996GT3, there is only one oil filler in the engine compartment just like the oil filter how have the same insert as your 997S. I don't no what the specific torque is.
  15. I think that you got two problems 1) bad contact in the main connector on the back side of the unit. 2) bad contact in the turn signal lamp holder ( pull both contact plates on the holder a little bit out for more pressure )
  16. Hi There are two main reasons for this problem - the convertible switch and corrosion in the connectors in the A pillars. If both windows rolling down at the same time, there is a great change that the switch gives the problem.
  17. e 81 kit contains - 4 brake calipers - 4 brake rotors - 4 air suspension units - 2 light alloy inter coolers - 4 dust plates ( br. rotors ) - 4 wheel bearings - some small pieces - reprogramming DME count 15h00 - 20h00 labour This is only to give you an idea what it really means.
  18. Only the side trim must be removed, replacement rear pillars = approx. 2.00 h. of labour for a experienced person.
  19. First of all you have to remove the interior trim, the glass and pillar have a fixation with nuts. Success.
