  1. 999.611.080.20 - MOLL 12V 80 A/h Price differs from one country to an other, contact your dealer.
  2. Best is to pressure test the cooling system, in cold condition and in warm condition. Anyway, MY 2008 Cayenne V8 should have a DI engine with plastic coolant pipes, indeed with different design.
  3. Read post # 5 and # 9 here first http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/topic/35854-door-guard-lights-not-turning-off/
  4. There is a fuse located on the back of the PCM also, i would try with a reboot first. Disconnect both battery terminal cables from the battery, connect them to each other with the help of a jumper cable for about 15 minutes or so, reconnect the cables on the battery and try again. If no avail, check the PCM fuse on the back, if the the fuse is still OK, a PIWIS tool is recommended for further investigation.
  5. OAS + hoses, oil filler hose, left to right bank breather hose, hose connectors, oil level dipstick tube, etc.
  6. That is the typical RMS and IMS seal oil leak spot, an oil leak on top of the engine is also a possibility given the oil drips on the floor are pretty clean and the car was serviced recently. I would check it properly to make sure.
  7. What they do is play with the electronic possibilities of the E-gas system, on a normal 997 (non sport) the throttle valve move simultaneously with the accelerator pedal, 25% pedal movement = 25% throttle valve opening, 50% pedal movement = 50% throttle valve opening, etc. till full throttle. On a 997 with sport option runs the throttle valve faster than the accelerator pedal, 25% pedal movement = 35% throttle valve opening, 50% pedal movement = 75% throttle valve opening, etc. till full throttle. Both versions are equally fast at full load, only at partial load (till approx. 80% pedal movement) there is a noticeable difference by the modified program.
  8. There are 3 micro switches on each door to be correct, 1 on outside handle, 1 on inside handle and 1 inside the door lock. The one build in the door lock is the most vulnerable in the system.
  9. Offset is possible on a very limited distance for security reasons. Focus only on a stretched chain is not a good idea on M96/97 and Cayenne V6 engines (see my comment at the top of this topic.)
  10. Unfortunately i have the specific values not in mind, the notes are transferred to my colleagues. Anyway, the info provided on engine type, DME, engine history (what's happen), engine check on? etc. is insufficient or non existent for a specific to the point answer. We used the special timing tools to check how much the timing was off and deciding what needs to be checked/repaired/replaced, variocam-chain-guides-etc., after the intervention using the tools made the timing right. Hope it helps.
  11. If the car is still equipped with a brake switch on top of the brake pedal, replace the switch. It will solve a big part of your problems. If there is no switch, a visit to the dealer's PIWIS is recommended.
  12. Have you already cleaned the throttle body? I would start with that.
  13. Yes ninsei, the cigarette lighter is the spot used by OEM battery maintainer, with the doors locked (remote control)
  14. You have to replace the cable start motor-alternator-connection (on the gearbox) in first place, the rubber cable cap is melted on the start motor solenoid connector. It's a common problem on 997/1.
  15. Make sure that the fuse terminals are clean and free of corrosion, in the front and the rear, check/swap out the fuel pump relay. I assume there are no traces of a kill switch/power interrupter switch, which was installed and removed poorly in the past. The best thing is to check (measurements) what's happen, the moment the problem occurs.
  16. Looks like a broken spring, you will have to remove the trim to take a look what's happen inside.
  17. Usually on 3.2 Carrera, the DME relay near the control box under the seat will go bad, in second place check the crankshaft sensor *** well.
  18. Only the electronic related part of the PSE is diagnosed, it remains important to check the mechanical parts as well. EOBD (OBD II) is a help, not a cure all.
  19. MY 2005 987 Boxster front parking lights are located in to the front bumper light units, same spot as the fog lights (clear glass section). A Philips screwdriver should be sufficient.
  20. Sometimes happens that the low beams are not functioning, in this case only the park lights are on, and they looks, of course, very dim. I would check that first.
  21. According to the information you provide, it resembles an oil (pressure) related problem. Something as a lifter or oil pressure valve, as the noise comes and goes and is not stable under all conditions. I would use a 5W - 50 oil, new oil filter and maintain the oil on the indicated full level to start with, i would also decide in favor, for an annual oil + filter change, if you do mostly short trips an low mileage.
  22. +1 for the gear oil, service?, type? and level?. Hope there is no short shifter installed, this makes it even worse under cold conditions.

The European Fuel Quality Directive(1) introduces a new market petrol across the European Union from 1st January 2011 that may contain up to 10% (by volume) ethanol (E10). For vehicles equipped with a spark-ignition (petrol) engine introduced into the EU market, this list indicates their compatibility with E10 petrol which complies also with the EN 228: 2008() volatility limits. You will find Porsche approvals on page 3.
  24. I have seen some Cayenne with a kind of mosquito wire, directly behind the front middle en side cooling vents, as protection. Anyway, it looks ugly and is only usable in warmer climates, the air flow will be obstruct by snow in colder climates with consequences for overheating etc. Unfortunately i have no safe solution to this problem, maybe others do.
  25. The only option is to replace disc and press. plate. Since the original possition of the press. plate (pressure part versus diaphragm) was not marked before removing, you can not exactly find what the previous possition was.
