    Use a good ground spot, and it should be working. You can also use a charger, or spare battery, if you use the cigarette lighter. I have no experience with RHD emergency cables, could be on the front left side in this case.

    The build in the tank fuel filters (MY 02>) return less fuel system covers Carrera/Boxster M96 engines. Turbo's still had the conventional system.

    There exist a list, concerning the maintenance intervals, it has to do with the fuel quality. Some countries, as North America and others, use minor fuel quality than West Europe, that's why they have changed the intervals, at least according to the memo.

    It's the residual vapour which comes out of the exhaust, a normal phenomenon under some circumstances (engine temp.-outside temp. and humidity) Filling gas should always done with the engine off, to prevent emission fault codes and not to confuse the control box (DME - actual consumption/engine running versus actual fuel tank contents while filling up)

    This method can help to get the creaking sound out of the moon roof unit, it take some time to do it but shows satisfactory results. Lower the head trim, loosen the nuts which hold the unit to the roof approx. two turns, spray gently some amount of grease between the unit and the roof, tighten the nuts and place back the head trim.

    It sounds not heavy, like an empty hydraulic valve lifter IMHO.

    MY 05 is still PCM 2.1 navi. dvd drive installed in the trunk, PCM 3 navi. is hard disc and the unit have a touch screen.

    Looks like one or both cats going been shot, converter capacity too low by full open throttle and full engine regime, blinking Cel and go's out when the engine RPM drops till approx. 5K RPM. DME consider this issue as misfires as well.

    The radio is not equipped with a anti theft spot or the spot is not exactly situated in line with the spot on the support, remove the radio and tape off (insulating tape) a good part of the radio, where the unit meets the anti theft spot on the side of the support.

    A software update with the latest version could be the solution, this intervention is not unusual, wait and see.

    I think that he intended the non available outside door handle trim, Loren.

    This behavior is caused by Ackerman effect and specific for Porsche sport cars front alignment, this phenomenon becom exacerbated by colder outside and therefore colder tyre temperatures.

    There is no need to disconnect the battery, just pull off the electric connector from the defective switch and replace the switch, push the electric connector back on the switch. Done.

    Engine oils are more and more specific, i would only go with oils which are indicated in the approved oil list.

    Get the fault codes read, could be just a communication problem. MY09 cars are still under warranty, let an OPC solve this problem.

    IMS failure is,generally spoken, associated with a fairly large loss of oil, and in fact no longer drivable. I hope for you the best.

    Don't think so, drive shaft is the mechanical connection between differential (gear box) and wheel. Cam shaft controls the valves (timing and, depends on construction, lift)

    The side markers are not functional with park and head lights on Europ. cars, they are used as turn signal, a program change can be made by a PIWIS diagnostic tool, perhaps someone rumbled around with that tool in the past. Let check it out.

    I would do a key reprogramming to start with, don't forget to submit ALL the available car keys to the service manager, he will need them all.

    Phillipj, do you mean that there is something wrong with the synchronisation of the time keeping on the dash and the time keeping on the PCM, or is it only the clock setting on the PCM? You have to know that there is no real clock inside a PCM, the time is send by Radio Data System from a master clock, located in the corresponding time zone. All you can do manually is, choice of the time zone, 24h or 12h display, date and clock setting/correction, summer/winter time. If the settings are done carefully and as it should, let check the issue out, maybe a typical issue in areas where two different time zones and their radio stations (FM) overlap each other? I've never seen this issue here.

    There should be spark plug replacement instructions on the 996 forum, the used tools and instructions are petty the same.
