  1. If the problem occurs on both handles, inside and outside, the lock itself could be the cause.
  2. You can change the switch to be sure (caution, different part # than the brake switch even though they looks the same). I would check if there is power available on the pin 50 of the start motor (thin wire) when you crank the engine, there is some wiring and relays between the pedal switch and the start motor present which may be defective. If you can not find anything, a PIWIS tester can help you out.
  3. The alignment procedure is as follow: Full fuel tank - NOBODY in the car - correct tyre pressure. Only a GOOD PERFORMED 4 wheel alignment with in the straight possition locked steering wheel, and pressed brake pedal (both performed by special alignment tools), handbrake on, can give fully satisfaction. If the car shows shortcomings after the alignment done as described, then search the error elsewhere (tyres, shock absorbers, etc.)
  4. DME-Cruise control-TC, that kind of stuff.
  5. Try it this way: ignition on - one push on the button - the switch control light is on and the spoiler go's up automatically. Do the same thing as previous, except you have to hold the button pressed (spoiler downwards is not automatic in manual mode) If no result, use a PIWIS to do the acts (PIWIS replaces the button), if the system works fine now, the switch/wiring (everything between switch and control box) can be suspected. You can also, at the same time, using the PIWIS for fault codes check/clear and guided troubleshooting.
  6. Hope you get well paid for the service
  7. The headlight design is changed from one lens on 997/1 to two lenses on 997/2 and further subdivided in a fixed and a dynamic cornering (option) version, here directly from the book: Bi-Xenon headlights offer advantages BOTH for DIPPED beam and HIGH beam headlights. Hope it helps.
  8. The identification numbers are on a label, glued on the radio chassis. You have to pull the radio out of the dash with the supplied specific tools.
  9. 997/987 have a build in cable tensioner, this makes the difference.
  10. Pull out the grommets to drain the under trays, let, on the front and on the rear, one drain hole partial open by cutting in the grommet. It should be solved.
  11. Looks like you have indeed a big problem, sometimes it will go wrong during an update, OPC's only are authorized to update, and covered by the PCM manufacturer to replace (for free) the unit in case it goes wrong. I hope you can find a solution which help you out as cheap as possible.
  12. Not if the car is equipped with hydraulic motor mounts.
  13. Porsche approved tyres, wheels and tyre pressure, can solve mostly the problem.
  14. Maybe a almost worn clutch?
  15. Turbo radiators and possition are different, that's probably why they left the new ducts in the box.
  16. No problem on a 4 post lift, under load or not make no difference as long both wheels are under the same load.
  17. Your car is probably a ROW version, fill the tank up with the filler nozzle handle in the direction of the rear of the car, instead of straight downwards (to the front wheel). If it doesn't work that way, than you could have a problem.
  18. No idea about Durametric, probably if there are test possibilities in their program, and not only fault code reader/remover.
  19. Thanks to let us know what can happen while driving too long with "check engine" on. It's a lot cheaper to take action ASAP after the CEL comes on. ;)
  20. JFP, to make it for you easier (or other forum members), mail or fax spark plug manufacturer ROBERT BOSCH gmbh, Porsche supplier, they can give you in English, what i not have, they're instructions concerning use of anti seize on spark plugs. It speak for itself that you can do what you think is the best for your car.
  21. In a wet and cold climate as the UK have, it's better to replace the complete bulb unit ((not expensive), the corrosion did his job after 9 years, be sure of that.
  22. PIWIS diagnostic tool should be next, it will help you out in 5 minutes at low costs.
  23. A.T.F. fluid + filter replacement never hurts, use the approved fluid and a filling device is recommended (DIY is on the board) gearbox temp. must be 40° C. (105° F).
  24. Correct, they have to compensate this issue with a 4 wheel alignment restart, this time with a straight and locked steering wheel.
  25. Porsche claimed that the specified torque not will maintain, with anti seize product on the spark plug.
