  1. After a refuling (about 65% of the tank) it looks better- maybe clogged, contaminated fuel filter or pump?
  2. it's the BK/BL wire. usually monitor's input wire gets hooked up to the reverse signal, but I havn't seen your set up.
  3. +1 it's a really good way to go Yep, I just replaced my screen in November and it was plug and play. For the budget conscious, it's a really good way to go. If you want the display to be stock, then this option isn't the best.
  4. Wow,,,,ouch IMS failure? hope not How much was overfilled? I wish U would/could have drained some oil. overfilling a M96 engine can possibly cause a few major problems. I know that owners have used 0W-40 & anywhere from 9.0 to 9.5 quarts of oil. Most used 9.5 quarts. new oil & filter was changed on my 986S this morning, infact she only took 8.2 quarts. "It COULD start with too much engine oil. The combination of Oil overfill+ too thin creates too much pressure inside the engine that the AOS cannot maintain so your AOS goes out. pressure has to be released so leaks to the weakest point of the seals - RMS,IMS sealed bearing, valve cover etc?" M96 engine review in Excellence showed that every IMS failure had oil in its sealed bearing.
  5. there are 2 cables in the back, check for a broken cable
  6. where is it coming from? front, back, all the way around?
  7. Yes it is posible as long as your new alarm sys is totally isolated,,, extra loud horn/level sensor wouldn't isn't a bad idea.
  8. Perhaps this might be able to help,, http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...indow&st=40
  9. glad she is all fixed,,, I've already seen more than a few CQ ballats disrupting with electrical system.
  10. under the dash? as fragil as 986's dash already is - rattling, sqeaking. I'm just wondering, how much more damage a pair of subs can cause further. instrument bulbs will need to be replaced every week? ;)
  11. Yes, there are some problems due to the speaker impedence,,, Bose means usually a 2 OHM impedence system. U could always drop/lower by running your amplifier in mono(bridging) or speakers in parrelel(SUB). As Jetexas mentioned there are 2/4ohm amps out there. even going with a weak 75W x 4CH amp, running in 2OHM load is gonna double the output. eventually paper coned factroy speaker will blow,,,,, 1.whole system needs to be replaced 2. look for an used BOSE amplifier 3. check with a local electronic repair shop I had a few blown amps repaired in the past
  12. Correct! Based on this excerpt from the manual The lock-in range has now been reset to zero (as is the case with every recognized transmitter operation) I am guessing that there is an internal counter in the key which is reset upon each successful communication with the car. So, normally, both keys should have this counter to zero and there is no question of the spare ever getting out of sync. This is my understanding (not authoritative :)
  13. wvicary has a good point. It's not the radio, but you never know? get a multi - 12v meter / remove the radio / measure both CONST/SWITCH power wires with the ignition on ACC + RUN position. that should determine
  14. much brighter than halogen, even brighter than silver star. good enough to almost fool U to think that it's a HID system. LOL These look interesting - how bright are they compared to stock / halogen and/or compared to HID lights? I had H7 blue lights in my fogs but took them out because they were not bright enough (worse than stock).
  15. looks even better on a black porsche,,, http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...c=17259&hl=
