  1. I agree with you Boston Duce (except for the sand ;-)) and I was worried when I found oil in my pipes. But after reading the post from these forums I felt more confident and don't seems to have any problem since.... Of course we are talking about a sweat.
  2. It was discussed on 6speed and according to what I am seeing on your pics, this is completely normal! (6speed oil in y pipes) and here Oil in intercooler, Las summer, I installed silicone hoses and my pipes had a little bit of oil and I was worried. But it seems a common thing... But what Boston Duce is mentioning about cooling time, it is in fact a must! found another discussion on Renntech here: Oil discovered in ic hose
  3. Did you know, there is a couple of TSB's on this subject. #6028 tilting/sliding roof noises, and a second one also #6028 Noises from the new style sunroof frame.
  4. Some people pull off the fuse C4 (fuel pump) and crank the engine for 7 to 8 seconds to get oil circulation without firing the engine..
  5. I got the repair manual in front of me and there is no mention about the wire. But there has to be one for the mirror dimming system....
  6. Located under this panel.... Try to get all the wiring inspected properly before you replace something so expensive.... Good luck.
  7. Isn't it the item 1 on this picture... Part # A 996 355 955 51 or -58 or -59 or -57 Parts cat....
  8. Clutch slave actuator. door window regulator, oil pressure transmitter, Stay on this site for info how to fix those. You will found some valuable info and a lot of nice and helpful people....
  9. Some other valuable info. 996 mainseal replacement...
  10. You will found some valuable information here: (Transmission removal)
  11. You will found removal installation on this site. It is a boxter but similar ( I was told)....window regulator replacement
  12. Window regulator part# 996 542 076 04 $232.75 at Pelican. Item 1 on the picture. There is one for sale on Ebay for the right side window regulator
  13. Good job! And thanks for the information and pictures...
  14. Sorry I didn't understand that part. Of course if you don't have continuity on the element itself you got your problem right there. Let us know how difficult it is to replace the element, Good luck.
  15. You cannot get to the two back element wires (red and white pins 1 and 2) and see if it is open or closed???
  16. With your part# I just look at Pelican and they got the part for $109.25
  17. You did a perfect troubleshooting. I just look at the wiring diagram, and the seat element is connected to a control unit with a thermostat in it. I hope you did a good check of the electrical wires for damage or chafing etc. because a Porsche TSB # 9757 mention the addition of a bracket to prevent the wire bundle from being damaged while operating the seat...
  18. I think there is three possibilities. Drive shaft which doesn't seems to be a common failure on TT's (universal joints or cv joint) but if the rubber boot is damage then there is a possibility of corrosion. Wheel bearing which are a common failure but steering full lock ????..... And finally tires! Take a good look on the inside of your front tires. A good look at the suspension, ball joint, wishbone etc. is also necessary. Keep us inform....
  19. I post that picture just to show you the location of the cable, in the front section, without the front bumper cover.... You should be able to get at it from the right side front plastic lining.(but not sure for rhd). Or, may be, with a small hook just in the corner of the right light assembly???? I have found in the book "Porsche 996 the essential companion" ,which is dedicated to any Porsche 996 : "The emergency release cable that unlocks the luggage compartment lid, runs front the lower part of the lock behind the wheelarch inner liner on the right hand side of the 996"
  20. The only thing I can tell you, I had to used 1/2 inch drive ratchet with a 3 feet pipe over the ratchet handle and it work! The torque of these two nuts should be 85 foot pound.....
  21. Strange..... Even the parts cat said 2001 to 2005 ??? And mine is a 2002 and I got one....
  22. There is a fuel filter on the left side over the engine. Part# 996 110 253 52 about $40.00. Located just beside the coolant reservoir. There is a way to lower the engine about 2 to 4 inches to give you more space. ......
  23. Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks Loren :renntech: Same situation in my toolbox. I got tool that I cannot remember when or where I got them from....
  24. It is not part of the repair or parts manuals...Is it possible to get a copy of the workshop equipment manual for the TT and see tools descriptions and functions ???... Thanks, J.P.
