  1. Sorry, but if an aftermarket warranty is what you need to buy a 996 then please walk away and buy a Honda or something else you will be much happier.
  2. Well you can: 1. Have the top glued back to the material if not too much seperation and buy a good plastic cleaner that will take the yellow off. 2. Go to a upholestery shop that can take off your top and sew in a new plastic rear glass - my guess the cheapest option if the top is otherwise in good shape. 3. You can order an aftermarket top either with Glass or plastic. The attached site sells both. I think they are the only ones to have designed a glass rear for the 1999-2001 996s. http://www.gahh.com/product_info.php?cPath...roducts_id=1575 best of luck
  3. Fabspeed cold air is not considered very good at anything except blowing your MAF. EVO is much higher quality, appears not to blow MAF. Neither will give you much horsepower but do sound great. I have the EVO. Muffler again will improve the sound and that is about it. GIAC along with the EVO and muffler will probably give you around 10 extra horsepower. Not much extra cheap horsepower to be found in the 996 and unless you put a blower on your car you are probably wasting your money but do not let that stop you I have done all this except went with another muffler. The short shift kit is great.
  4. Just in case anybody does a search in the future the MAF did fix the problem.
  5. Hi today had my 2000 996 C4 throw P1125 and P1132 while turning on the ABS and PMS lights, not at same time. Just to make it easy here it is: 1. P1125 and P1132 codes 2. In 5th gear above 5000 rpm PSM and ABS lights come on, can reset but as soon as I repeat it happens again.. 3. Is this a bad MAF? What I have done 1. Cleared OBD Codes 2. Replaced MAF Do I need to do anything else? Sorry is on the 986 side should be a 996, not sure what I did wrong
  6. I still have the original with just under 50000 miles problem where 1RMS, 1MAF. Drive on Autobahn 2-3 times a week.
  7. Not so sure I agree on the corrosion issue as in reality this is purely for looks. I agree try and get them to repaint it but if not it is not that difficult to repaint yourself. Best of Luck!
  8. Cost around $50, cosmetic only and no need for longer wheel bolts. 7mm and larger are slightly more expensive and require new bolts.
  9. Thanks, I am looking at getting a set of these for my 996 in 225/40 18 and 275/40 18. The cost and reviews are great on tirerack.
  10. Way to go hopefully it was 100,000 miles that were pain free!
  11. Forgive me but is the MAF not an emission part thus covered under like a 10 year warranty?
  12. You may be able to pick up a used motor off of another car with around 40000 miles for much less money but PTEC is correct think alternator, AC, etc.... Sorry and best of Luck!
  13. Let me know if you chip your car, I have the rest on my car and love it but wonder if the GIACC is worth the extra $$$$. Speaking of ROW 0030, buy it, I have it and love it!
  14. I would just drive at 30 MPH in 3d gear and push the gas pedal to the floor. If the rpms rise quickly your clutch is starting to go. If it is starting to go replace it before you do damage to the flywheel, it is expensive and I waited too long and had to replace mine.
  15. Have had the new seal nearly 1.5 years now with no leaks. Seems overall it is doing pretty good from what I have read.
  16. No but to me it looks like cheap plastic with a price that is way over a reasonable profit. IMHO
  17. I would go with Silver as my 1st choice and Red as my 2d. IMHO
  18. To answer your question yes the AMG will make the difference. The AMG will be faster up to 155 miles per hour where it will hit its electronic brain kicks in and then you can catch back up. How do I know, Autobahn 6 this past weekend but it was fun! :drive:
  19. You will have to take your car back to the Porsche Dealer to have them go into your computer and change the option code. If you do not have a read out on your outside temp gage they can turn that on also with some other options.
  20. They get away with what you call a terrible system because most people buy the car for the way it handles and like to listen to the engine and exhaust. Outside that buy an aftermarket, they are less expensive and if installed correctly sound better. Best of luck on the upgrade!
  21. I would love to know what plane you fly that is that cheap
  22. Thanks I guess this is then for the coupe with 6 speed and will not fit my CAB with 6 speed, that stinks! Thanks Derek
  23. I have a 2000 C4 Cab regular suspension and I am looking at this: Nr. 00004450008/20 VA: 996 333 051 13 HA: 996 343 043 13 This includes the springs and is off of a 2001 C4 I will be picking these up with about 20000 miles on them over here in Europe and just wanted to make sure they will fit, if so about what does it cost to have them put on and I know this does not include the rear bumper stops so will I need them? Thanks Derek
