  1. I bought the 997 shifter, but did not get the alignment bracket or instructions for alignment. Wanna loan or sell me yours?
  2. PayPal was a problem, and I had to use a credit card I do not normally use. Not sure what the problem was, but PP thought the credit card I normally use was associated with another account. :cursing:
  3. I just re-upped. TSB access alone is worth the cost of admission. I like the no-nonsense technical nature of RennTech. And Loren is a true gentleman and scholar. :renntech:
  4. I did not clear cookies, but something broke loose. Had 2 pages of new posts since yesterday.:thankyou:
  5. I vote for what we cal RoW 030 in the US. Just make sense as original engineered equip and that is what I will do when my suspension needs replacement.
  6. You can get some info read outs like temps, maybe speed, etc. on the unit, but if yours is dark that won't work. Article in the latest Excellence cover the devilish things that disconnecting the battery can cause. The computer might not be detecting the control unit. Sounds like the controls don't turn the fan up or a/c on/off? Is there current at the back of the unit? If the fuses are okay I'd try disconnecting and reconnecting the unit.. Maybe disconnect and reconnect battery to see if unit shows up on the CAN. Probly need PIWIS or PST2 to see what is happening. The module self diagnoses faults and stores them for read out. If the a/c control failed, they are not that expensive IIRC. Good luck.
  7. Yes, and I never had this happen before here. Had "six new posts since1:14 today." Where 1:14 came from I have no idea. Had not been on all day.
  8. Same browser FireFox 3.6.10. Today got 18 new posts as of 09xx this morning, but have not been on today. Is the post count way down? Your answer to me was not amongst them, Loren. I not having this problem anywhere else. :help: Just tried again and my last post (quoted) showed up. Are unread entries supposed to be bold? None of mine is.

  10. I used Ultimate Pedals bought from manufacturer. Very high quality with quality mounting parts, which I am told is not true of some kits. Extra bit parts included. I got the version with the little rubber pads, but they come in all metal in several finishes. The brake and clutch do not feel much different, but the dead pedal and accelerator pedal have a much better feel.
  11. Not sure about multimeter, but if a coil fails you will get a code. A failing coil might result in plugs that are more fouled than the good coils. Good time to change oil and filter if you are due. You might also replace the "lifetime" coolant.
  12. I had not checked the classic parts site for a while. Much improved. Thanks. :renntech: Great to find 1970 carb fuel pump available again (if expensive)! And the 901 shift knob. Not sure about that nav unit. You'd think a flip up cover plate might have been included to hide at the screen. I'm visualizing my old Blaupunkt Frankfurt's size and that :censored: screen must be tiny. I think a Garmin, TomTom etc removable will be fine in my 914.
  13. After being gone for days I get only 4 new posts and the system says "since 1:01 PM." I was not on anytime since at least Friday. Same thing last time I logged on sometime last week.
  14. New Speedster unveiled at Paris Auto Show. http://www.autoweek.com/article/20100921/PARIS/100929985
  15. I do not know of any that will operate with the OEM receiver. TireRack sells an aftermarket kit with its own receiver for <$300 IIRC. Perhaps you could put it on the winter wheels?
  16. When I replace my thermostat it will be with 160 degree version from LNE that comes ready to install w/o need for a special tool. Also plan to change out the "lifetime" fluid while I'm at it.
  17. :welcome::welcome::welcome: Glad you are here. Sitting in the car is a great idea. Adult beverage and the owner's manual make great company while you familiarize yourself with all the little details like the OBC settings.
  18. I guess is up to us to try one and post a report... I have had one for over a year and think it is an extremely well machined piece of engineering excellence. Comes with install device. Charles, the N of LN recommended the Napa filter for its high flow. But there is a K&N and one other I cannot recall. I also bought the magnetic drain plug.
  19. Mine found the little glow-in-the-dark handle right away.
  20. Go to pedrosgarage.com. It will be in English, not German. Don't think the Germans give DIY.
  21. :welcome: :welcome: Glad to have you in the club!
  22. I don't know if PS tires are directional. Are there arrows showing rotational direction? If not, try swapping fronts side to side. Stock hub-centric wheels? Spacers? Correct tighteng order of lugs? Torque? Loosen all lugs and re-tighten to spec in proper order - opposite or star of David pattern. You should not have this problem.
  23. Sounds like air in cooling system that needs to be bled off.
  24. Inside wear sounds like negative camber to me.
