  1. The froth in the oil fill tube/cap might just be condensation which is normal. You'll also have a vacuum created at the oil cap if removed when the engine is running. Check the coolant level when the engine has cooled. I've no idea about the residue.
  2. Well I know for a fact that I have a customer with a '04 Cayenne S that has a battery under the Bose drive in the rear. After you remove the 10mm nuts holding the unit just pull up on the sub drive, it has some metal clips that hold it onto the threaded studs.
  3. The pic looks fine but dirty, they sit slightly open in the default position.
  4. I don't understand what the big deal is but contact your dealer. I wouldn't take what someone wrote in a car mag to be laws and cause Porsche to redesign something.
  5. There is a problem with water migrating into the brake booster. Porsche has issued a TSB on the problem which requires a new booster, sealing kit and brake pedal.
  6. Is the engine actually turning over?? It sounds like the starter has failed.
  7. I've done the cleaning thing of MAF loads of time and it's never lasted or even worked most times, just replace the sensor and have it done with.
  8. I don't recall any problems with freeze plugs but have read a few cases where a oil plug in the cylinder head I believe came loose and caused a massive leak.
  9. I t could very well be the mount, or a handful of other things. Take it in to another mechanic and get a second opinion. There shouldn't be any guessing if the mount has failed or not, the rubber separates away from metal housing so just a quick look at things should narrow down any guessing.
  10. Is there another dealer near your location you could try? I have never heard of this problem before and have customer who drive their Porsches all year round.... it gets -40 C here in winter.
  11. If you lock the car with the key and the alarm still arms then it sound like the key fob has failed. Only option I know of is a visit to the dealer for a new unit and programming.
  12. If the vehicle is already wired for DRL then you just have to install the relay, you can also purchase a universal DRL module at any local auto parts store and have that installed.
  13. Straight forward job, I use a razor blade to clean the area and then wash it off with brake clean. Any high temp sensor safe silicon should do the trick.
  14. I take it that you've already check the tire pressure??
  15. If it isn't broke don't fix it. I can't see the angle from your pic but if it's not leaking leave well enough alone.
  16. UK has a alarm siren with a battery back up located next to the vehicles main battery, you'll have to disconnect this siren.
  17. This should be an easy problem to sort. As already suggested test the fuel pump volume and amp draw of the fuel pump. Both tests only take a matter of minutes each to perform and the problem narrowed down in about an hour of labour.
  18. Congrats on the new motor. Do they make a glass wind stop or are you referring to the factory plastic one?
  19. Have you done the disconnecting of the battery and then leave the ignition on for one minute before starting trick? Is there a throttle plate adaption for your model? I know on VW one had to use a 1551 scanner to reset the TB.
  20. Your local TV/Radio repair shop can test the remote to see if it's transmitting any RF and at what frequency. Also find a garage that use a OTC/Mac Tools TPMS tester as it can also test key fobs. I've repaired loads of poor solder connection on these remotes. Any chance that the remote is ok and maybe the alarm unit is the problem.... have you checked the fuse on the unit under the left seat? Does the red LED flash if you lock the vehicle with the key?

  22. That is outstanding milage for tires on a Cayenne. If you were happy with the Scorpions then use them again. Maybe try TireRack for some customers reviews on different tires.
