  1. The rear bolt of lower control arm may be rusted on really badly and fused itself to the metal sleeve of the control arm bushing. I had to sawzall my bolt off to get the LCA off.

Hi all, Thanks everyone for all the tips and tricks to help maintain my 02 996 Cab and 04 Cayenne S and I just wanted to contribute back showing everyone how to make a simple and cheap fluid transfer pump, I've used this succesfully to pump in ATF into my 2002 911 with tiptronic transmission (mercedes 722.6 tranny) when doing a drain a fill and I have a second pump to pump differential fluid into the differential of my Cayenne S. I bought the parts from Lowes and total cost was about $15. Everything is direct fit and no cutting/modding or anything neccessary. Just simply remove the end of the sprayer and insert the white plastic tube instead of using the garden sprayer nozzle, Just make sure the supplied o-ring is used. Simple!   3. This sensor fits in a slot under the vent valve that you removed. look carefully and you will see a small channel in the vent valve for it. Took me a few minutes to figure it out at first when I took off my vent valve.

  6. For number 2) that is normal behavior. It always goes down to 2 unless during cold start and the transmission isn't warmed up yet, in that case it will go down to 1st gear.
  7. That plastic piece that is on your car right now comes off with a slight pull. It is just held into place by the 3 nubs in the back as you can see from the trim piece that you are holding in your hands. Super easy to take off and replace.
  8. To have the auto tilting mirror you have to move the selector to the right side dot. If you leave it to the left or in the middle it will not auto tilt for reverse. Personally i hate the feature and never use it. The air suspension fault can possibly be fixed with a new piston ring for the compressor. I have the same issue and have been too lazy to fix even though I bought the repair kit for it. HTH
  9. The only problem is I always neglect to pack the durametric. But will definitely try to remember i go up to tahoe =)
  10. I have a durametric Pro and I have not been able to pull any codes as it always goes away by the time I get back to lower elevations.
  11. Yes I have noticed the same conditions when I get my air suspension fault code. Once I return to low elevation and restart the car it goes away.

  13. I did mine preventatively. It looked fine when I took the old one out (as in no signs of cracking anytime soon). 2004 CS with 55k miles California car.
  14. If you don't have the air suspension... disregard. Glad you figured out your problem.
