  1. Without being 100% sure because I haven't done it, there is a chance tou don't need a new steering rack. A number o people have just connected a used one for just tricking the module and then connected back their original one. The car started flawlessly and the error cleared!! Just giving you ideas before taking and bite!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I hve the same problem in my 957 CTT but PDCC and airsusp. Works great, I don't believe that you need a rebuild! Have tou checked the level sensor in the front wheels? Before you begin replacing parts give it a try it is relatively cheap compared to strut replacement!! I don't have a Durametric and due to lck of time I haven't visited my Porsche specialist to pull codes! Check what codes are stored and if you want report back!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. My 2008 CTT makes that noise especially when very cold outside but quiets in less than 2 minutes! I had the fear of cylinder scoring but after checking the noise comes from the valve lifters!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The car has been plugged on Durametric but no fault is stored, and the Porsche technician at the dealer said it might be the Gemballa lowering module that acts like that or the battery which I haven't changed it for almost 3 years. What is the correct voltage of the battery when new? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hello, CTT 2008 120k miles with PDCC PDCC fluid changed 3000 miles ago, along with a line that broke while driving. The past 2 weeks, the chassis red warning appears almost 3-4 minutes after starting the car. It is not a daily driver so it sits for 2-3 days between drives. To the problem, the red warning appears but the air-suspensions works flawlessly, I can select any level and the car reaches it immediately. However, chassis control modes are disabled including sport mode. Once I switch off the engine and restart the problem appears after 2 minutes. Once I drive for 2-3 miles I switch off again-restart and the problem goes away. Anyone knows what it might be, I don't have durametric and between work I don't have time to visit my Indy! Thank in advance, Chris Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I turn the key I hear a click, 2nd turn the same. I then remove the key, I wait 10-20 seconds and with the 3rd turn the car starts but not easily. I think that yes the starter doesn't make noise to start. It is not the case where you hear the starter trying to crank up the motor and the motor is not starting. If the starter was working properly and it was a fuel related issue, wouldn't I hear the starter trying on 1st, 2nd attempt? The weird thing is that when the car sits for days, then it starts immediately. If I recall correctly the first Indy said it is the starter motor and the problem is more evident when the motor gets hot after 10-15 minutes of driving. Your Input appreciated
  7. I am bit confused because 2 different Porsche Indys had different suggestions to the problem. My car, when cold after sitting 5-6 days when I get in and start it, it starts flawlessly. After driving for about 5-10 minutes to get to the grocery or gas station the car needs 2-3 turns of the key to start. Sometimes it starts with 1st turn (very rare when hot). Battery 6 months old, although it doesn't seem as a power problem. When the car was in for a PDCC line leak, I mentioned the problem to the mechanic who noticed it and told me next time we should clean the starter (don't know what that means). He asked 250 Euros for cleaning! wtf!!!!!!! I was passing by another reputable Indy which is 70km far from where I leave, stopped and mentioned the problem to get a second opinion and from what he felt, he told me close an appointment cause it might be something fuel related. P.S No boost leak, constant idle rpm, no reduced power or so, car runs great but I am bit concerned about the start issue in fear of getting stuck during a trip. Car has 125k miles, fully serviced in July 2015 (spark plugs, oil, belt, filters, etc) Any suggestions??
  8. Just ordered parts!! Hopefully i will have them next week. Thanks for your help
  9. Hi man, awesome install. Can you give more details about the parts and the installation??
  10. I bought it like that, and after I checked the difference in diameter is only 0.5. So I guess is not that big of a problem. I wish i could go back to non-staggered but the wheels are Techart Formula 1 which are wider at the rear.
  11. Take look on something like that: http://www.ebay.com/itm/REPLACEMENT-3-BUTTON-CASE-FOR-PORSCHE-911-BOXTER-S-3-BUTTON-REMOTE-KEY-FOB-/390430744159?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5ae77c5e5f
  12. It is a late 2008 production CTTs and the wheels are from the previous owner. 275/40/20, 315/35/20. He probably changed the original wheels with Gemballa one's as the dealer told me. The latitudes are an excellent tyre however not available in this width. I am looking towards the Vredesteins or Contis. I wish Continental DW was available in Greece.
  13. Just purchased a 2008 CTTS and the previous owner is running a staggered set up Front:275/40/20 Rear:315/35/20. The current tyres Goodyear Wrangler F1 need replacement and I would appreciate some suggestions from the members here. -The 1st and expensive choice: P-Zeros at 1250 Euros -Continental Contisport SUV: at around the same price -And a guy at a local store suggested Atturos AZ850 which are at around 630 Euros. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?? Thanks in advance
  14. Anyone knows what kind of steering wheel is the following?
  15. You are right, but my concern has been minimized because the cost is around 9-10,5k. About the rod bearings you are right and i am going to consult a mechanic, because i don't have a clue on how to raise the pressure. I was thinking that it might be better not to drive it from the parking lot but instead use a towing truck. Probably I have a bill of around 3-4k to bring it back to its glory. I am considering it seriously cause CTT's with only 35000 miles are rare now in Greece, imports are too costly and others that are sold are around 18000 euros with questionable service history and mileage.
  16. Hi to all in the forum, I am Chris from Greece and I am looking for a piece of advice. I have found a CTT 2005 with 35000 miles that a bank sells after being abandoned for 2+ years and not in garage. As the price is tempting and I am looking forward to spend some cash to bring back to the road. What do you thing I must expect in terms of Service, taking for granted that all liquids in engine and trans are going to be replaced, new tyres etc. P.S. probably a conversion to 2007 F/L look is a thought. http://www.renntech.org/forums/uploads/downloadedimages/edit.gif' title="Edit/Delete Message" alt="edit.gif">
