  2. That's a very good deal. Stay below 4,200 RPM for the first 2,000 miles. Black/black/black= hot, hot, hot in the summer heat and sunshine.

  5. You should really: 1) Use Porsche approve tires 2) Set pressures stated in your manual, then make adjustments based on your driving style
  6. Westcoaster, have them check for TSB #W574. This is for the washer on the exhaust bracket clamp. Maybe it is rattling.
  7. Paul, I have a Racing Dynamics strut brace on my 987S. It was a simple bolt-on procedure. No changes to the battery. Brace goes in front of the battery. You may need to re-position the battery. Work on level ground. Dry fit first. Then remove 2 of the 3 bolts per side. Install and tighten everything up. Make sure you don't over-torque the strut bolts. I think they are 26 ft/pounds.
  8. That's not it then. The undercoating should be fine by now. Sorry.
  9. WAZ, how many miles are on your car? It could be the undercoating still burning off.
  10. My Homelink works fine. Depending on your type of garage door opener, you need to prgram it a special way that is described in the owners guide. Pay special attention if your garage door opener is the type with rolling codes.
  11. Nick, this kind of damage should be covered in your auto insurance. Where are you parking it? You need to stop the mice at the point of entry. Try some mouse traps...or a big fat kitty!

  13. Try using a battery maintainer until this gets resolved. Are your front & back trunk lights turning off, when closed? This could be a potential power drain.
  14. Neither the 15W50 or the STP are Porsche approved. Proceed with caution.
  15. Is your car a Tiptronic? Could be the middle radiator for the trans cooler??
  16. I bet if you go back to the 0W40 oil, the ticking noise may deminish.

  18. Mack, this is usually a none issue. How long was the car sitting since your last drive? Good job following the proper break-in process.
  19. Loren, you need to check your information too! You are not 100% correct. Bob and Eric at Sunset can not sell you certain OEM equipment, unless your VIN had that part from the factory. Call them, you'll learn a lot. Same for Carnewal. Not even Adam Miller, from PCNA After Market Sales, can assist in these cases. Please check your information, and stop perpetuating your false comments. Thank you.
  20. Loren, this is actually very true! There are several options that must be factory ordered. You can't buy them from the dealer (any dealer) unless your car was equiped that way from the factory. A perfect example can be as simple as the leather fuse box cover- the dealer can't order one unless your VIN lists it with the orginal factory order. Strange but true!
  21. Try using a high quality leather conditioner to improve the overall apperance. Try the Soffner product from www.colorplus.com. Their products are excellent.
  22. I am going with bad gas too or a dirty fuel system. Are you running 93 octane? Run a few tanks with a high quality fuel cleaner with Techron like the Chevron product. Get the concetrated one that treats up to 20 gallons. They have a smaller one too, but it only treats 12 gallons.
  23. Where I live there's lots of dust and debris in the air all the time, so I prefer to regularly clean the air filter rather than buy a new one every couple of months. I have no worries of damaging the MAS, i've used this type of filters in two of my previous cars and never had any trouble. I just take the time and patience so as not to over oil them. Anyway if the MAS were to fail I would just replace the K&N with the stock air filter. I'm looking for the extra intake sound without having to waste $350 on the Evolution Motorsports intake. Also, in all of the other cars I've intalled the air filters I've noticed a slightly better trottle response, don't know if it will happen in the boxster but it could. I've talked to lots of porsche owners who run their daily and track cars with K&N filters and none have had any trouble with their MAS. Also the guys at my Porsche dealer are really cool and they don't bother with stupid stuff like this. I've read about MAS problems but most of them were on completely stock cars, so it probably is just a factory defect and people as always trying to scare others with "stories they've heard". So don't worry and I'll let you know if anything ever happens. You will need to shorten-up on your oil change interval too, since you will be letting more air and dirt into your engine.
