2004 CS 84K. Bought the car 6 weeks ago. On thanksgiving day, prior to a long trip, the Battery light came on at start up and then went off. Each time I start the car, I have to bump the key twice to start. Battery light goes off and all is good. Volt gauge reads 14ish volts while running. Interior lights seem to cut off (when car isn't running) way too soon, and the blower motor is making weird noises and sometimes takes a minute or so after start up to begin working. Is it the battery, and if so which one? Under the seat or in the trunk?

It sounds like the primary battery (under the seat) is going bad. If your Cayenne has the optional second battery, it may be the one that is starting the vehicle once the primary battery is unable to do the job. I'm not sure what you mean by interior lights cutting off soon... you mean after you remove the key? The blower motor issue probably isn't related. Blower motors have been known to fail on these vehicles. I haven't replaced mine, but I understand that it's a fairly easy DIY procedure.

Thanks for the reply. I will look into replacing it soon. As far as the blower, and other replacement parts, do you know of a good source? I am new to Porsche. I own a Volvo as well and usually get parts from IPD.com. And yes the interior lights seem to cut off too soon after the key is removed.

Thank you all for the quick responses. This has encouraged me to become a contributing member. Stealership wanted $99 to test the battery. They said that it could be the alternator or the battery, but after driving nearly 1200 miles after the light started to come on, I am banking on the battery. Thanks again,

So after buying a battery from our local foreign auto parts distributor and getting home, it turns out that it was the wrong one. Thanks to my commercial sales friend at Advanced Auto for the correct one. It tested at 3 cranking amps.

On a side note, the blower seems to be working fine now, with no quirks!

I have a 2009 957 3.6l v6 Cayenne. The battery was dead a few days ago so I replaced it. It now starts up just as it should but when run a diagnostic it says the alternator voltage is high reading 14.72. I’m assuming I need to replace the alternator to remedy this. I can’t find any information about replacing the alternator. Has anyone attempted this? It looks like it might be straightforward  but my concern is whether or not the intake manifold has to be removed in order to get clear access. If anyone has any insight on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the seat on a 2008/957 Cayenne which they can let me have?

I’m trying to chase a fault where the passenger seat will motor up and down and the backrest will adjust forward and aft, but there is no response from the controls to move the seat unit forwards and backwards, or the four-way lumber support control.
      Thanks in anticipation...

My front wheel was making a rattling noise for about the last week, and this morning as I drove out of my driveway and turned the wheel, I could hear a loud popping noise coming from my wheel whenever I turned. My best guess is that I drove over a pothole and the control arm / bushing moved out of place. Would this be covered under the OE warranty? Or should I take it to a mechanic?

Hi all, I just joined the group and am having some problems with my 2005 Porsche Cayenne.
When I drive a few miles it stalls and I see a message saying Reduction on and reduction off. I your help please, and thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi there, my Cayenne is telling me my driver's side door is open when it is not. This is causing the dome light to stay on. Not sure what the issue is and if can be fixed easily. Any info given is greatly appreciated, thanks!
