This is my first post on this forum and I am excited to join the Porsche community. I am scheduled to pick up my 2013 Porsche Cayenne diesel tomorrow morning. Since the Cayenne diesels have been at U.S. dealerships for over a week now, I thought I would start a thread where Cayenne diesel owners can post their rides when they get them. I will post a pic as soon as my wife and I take delivery tomorrow. I am very excited...what other brand offers a sport utility vehicle that looks great, is very comfortable and a lot of fun to drive, can tow almost 8,000 lbs, will get 30+ mpg on cruise control, and can go over 700 miles between fill ups?

congrats on your new ride. pls post pics. was in the dealership last week getting my 997s serviced and happened to sit in the new diesel. very interested in learning more about them as it seems like a great balance between efficiency, sport, and utility.

Options are Meteor Grey Metallic paint, Cayenne S III wheels, Premium Package Plus, Bose® Audio Package, and WheelHbCvr w/Color Porsche Crest. The only option this thing doesn't have that I wanted was a towing package. I will be putting an aftermarket tow hitch on myself shortly. This vehicle is nothing short of amazing after driving 50 miles. It isn't overly fast, but it has so much low end torque that you barely have to touch the gas pedal and you are accelerating. My daily driver is a 405whp Lexus ISF, and this thing feels like it has plenty of power for any situation.

So far I have put 100 miles on it and have averaged 27 mpg in mixed driving. I have been pretty easy on the throttle, but am not babying it. In reality you don't ever need to do more than just touch the throttle because it has plenty of torque to push you along. I have no doubt that after the engine is broken in you could get 35 mpg on a road trip with it on cruise control. I am amazed at how comfortable and solid it is. It is the first SUV I have driven where I don't want to get out of the driver's seat.
