Turning Wheels Causing Popping Noise - Warrantied?

Recommended Posts

My front wheel was making a rattling noise for about the last week, and this morning as I drove out of my driveway and turned the wheel, I could hear a loud popping noise coming from my wheel whenever I turned. My best guess is that I drove over a pothole and the control arm / bushing moved out of place. Would this be covered under the OE warranty? Or should I take it to a mechanic?

From what you describe it could be bushings however without looking at it up in the air it it is guessing at best. For example it might be a wheel bearing and not bushings.

Either way you will need to get it up on a lift. As far as warranty coverage that is a good question. I work on all my cars so I don’t have warranties and have them removed if I buy a used car from a dealer. What does your warranty cover? Normal wear and tear? Drivetrain etc?

You definitely need the car up on a lift or jack stands to inspect the noise further.
