Disclaimer.... this is my first post so be gentle.

2001 911 C4 Cab. 62K miles. The usual white, mabe a touch of blue, smoke on start issues but with a twist. Emitting from BOTH tail pipes and on idle the revs start at 800 RPMs but quickly climbs to 1200 +. A  of the throttle brings it back to 800 RPMs and then the cycle starts over. Read all the smoke posts but this twist may be different.

Wadda think?

Jeffo

And for the "Mirrors".... the poor quality hinges on the visor mirror broke. Replaced with a "used" one.

I would start with a cleaning of the throttle body and butterfly. The egas engine are very sensitive to carbon and dirt build-up on the butterfly and small idle ports in the throttle body housing.

Do a search here for more tips on that - and it is likely easier with better results if you remove the throttle body and clean it with carb cleaner (or fuel injector cleaner.

The light smoke at startup is likely normal.

Appreciate the RAPID response Loren. I'll do a search. My mechanic, who I do have confidence in, couldn't fix the problem.

Thanks Loren

I'd also check the crankcase vacuum level to see if your AOS is on the way out, which leads to excessive start up smoking.  Do a search, been covered multiple times.
