Car won't lock (Double Beep), after changing instrument cluster rules and using automatic programming with Piwis III/3

Recommended Posts

As title states, I was messing around with Instrument Cluster settings and Electrical Systems Settings (To re enable sport chrono). After desired settings I ran the automatic programming and all seemed fine (As in i had my SC settings back). However, when i closed the car and attempted to lock, it double beeped and would not lock. I had ran into this error before when i accidentally changed comfort settings but had it resolved when i changed the settings back. However this time is different.

Any ideas?

None of the clusters were disconnected (as in no parts were replaced etc). All the errors were just thrown as soon as I connected the piwis.

Im planning on doing a handover to see if that gets me anywhere. However, during one of the handover screens it asks me if the car is new where I always select no. Not sure if I should select yes as I havent been able to find resources on what happens then

It appears that in the DME programming the values for vehicle version and type were empty however when trying to set them in i get this prompt. Not sure what version to select. And on top of that the next screen is asking for old and new immobilizer codes so i didnt proceed since thats out of my scope

IPAS are required code specific to each car to program or re-program major modules (i.e. DME, Alarm, keys, etc.).

A good dealer will be able to lookup and give you a printout of your cars IPAS codes - usually with with your proof of ownership.

IPAS: Asked around and they couldnt give it to me so making sure i have nothing else to do before i take car in to my indy.

however i ran a PRE VAL and am getting this error in my gateway which im assuming is the culprit. “50210: Coding value cannot be determined”. However in normal mode i cant see a way to code the car in basic coding so not sure if developer mode has something since i cant find anything online

This issue has been solved. If anyone needs help, maybe my scenario can help. Took about a month of digging deep into every module but all is well now.

Now just have to get Sports Chrono reactivated....

A double beep means that there is an alarm fault that can not be reset. You need to read the fault codes for the alarm system to location the problem sensor or control box.
