  1. Ah... sorry I missed it on my MY02 schematic. That orange/blue wire gets connected to all the other orange/blue wires on the OBD II connector pin A3 (also know as K lead). That wire is needed for PST2 diagnosis so the PST2 knows the PCM1 controller is there and can be coded.
  2. The reverse signal should be under the left hand seat (on LHD cars not sure about RHD cars). Should be Black/Blue connections already there - just add you PCM1 reverse wire to them (solder or crimp). What is the pin number on the PCM1 for Diagnosis? My schematic does not have anything labeled "Diagnosis".
  3. Try http://www.paintscratch.com. They are pretty close.
  4. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...indpost&p=14446
  5. 955 044 200 05 FUEL CAP TETHER $6.83 (all prices US Retail as of Dec 2005) 996 006 118 01 WARNING STICKER $2.21 996 201 241 03 Fuel cap with clip $6.84 BTW... As a Contributing Member you do know that you can lookup prices? It should be on your "Online Docs Menu".
  6. Only on Sandy's car and my car... ;) ;) ...and any others that did Sandy's mod. Sandy's Flashing Sidemarker Mod
  7. Please try using the search feature here. I found this question has been answered more than a dozen times already. Telephone prep connector. On it you will find: +12 volts unswitched (red/green) +12 volts switched (green/black) Ground (brown wire) Telephone Mute Signal (yellow/black wire)
  8. A Ball socket hex wrench allows you to be offset as much as 30 degrees and still turn the hex bolt. Here is a link to a set I bought a few years ago Ball End Hex Wrenches. Be sure and get the metric ones. The spark plug socket is pretty standard 5/8" is US. The spark plug socket is common but you will need a wobble extension to get the angle a couple of the plugs.
  9. There is a 15 page TSB for installation of the CDC-4 on a Cayenne. There are several variations depending on what options your car currently has. You will likely need to buy the correct interfacing fiber optic cables to make it work - as well once it is wired up you will need to have a dealer or shop with a PST2 (or PIWIS) tester code your system to know it is present.
  10. You and your dealer is right - I misread the TSB. The 17" wheels are not for the Boxster S (987). I apologize - I must have been half asleep when I read that. I corrected my post above.
  11. Sorry, it should be fixed now.
  12. As log as you know which way your engine is facing... :D The pully side faces the front in a Boxster. In a Carrera the pulley side faces the rear.
  13. Depends... how low do you want to go? X73 will lower 20 mm (front and rear) and is fixed. PSS9 will lower up to 50 mm and is adjustable. Plus with the PSS9's you can corner balance and use the adjustable sway bars to "fine tune" the handling.
  14. You can read them now (Welcome to becoming a Contributing Member). In the Boxster (986) TSB section look for: Number: 2005, ID: 6/04. Description: Aluminum Look Fuel Cap. Click on the link to view it online.
  15. Try the folks at Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost). The last one I got from them was $18.
  16. Yes, that's it! The black rubber cap is the dust protector. Don't forget to put the dust cover back on when you are done.
  17. You can't see it in either picture. It is up high on the transmission - near the top where the transmission meets the engine. You will another 1649 to catch Tool Pants and 3180 to catch me...
  18. You mean X73 (for TT and C4S) right? X73 does not include new swaybars - nor does PSS9. You can add the the GT3 adjustable swaybars to either - although I think you will need custom drop links.
  19. The TSB expalins it all... ;) ;)
  20. I think your dealer needs to read TSB 1/04 9110 PCM2.1 & BOSE Amplifier Spare Parts Requirements (dated 7-05-05). This TSB describes how to upgrade from the old (no longer available PCM 2.1) to the newer design. The listing shows what replaces what and then gives 5 pages of instructions of how to update the software on both the PCM 2.1 and the BOSE amplifier. If that does not work then I think you need to find a different dealer.
  21. 17" wheels will fit any 987 - as long as they meet the factory offset and width specs. Here are the factory 17" wheels for Boxster (987) (not Boxster S (987)): Front: 6.5 J x 17 H2, offset 55 Part No. 987.362.122.005 Rear: 8 J x 17 H2, offset 40 Part No. 987.362.126.00
  22. There does not appear to be a kit to retrofit the ParkAssistent option. Looking at the schematic it does not appear to be too complex. But routing the wires in the car may be the big problem. The ParkAssistent consists of: - a control module which is located under the driver's seat together with a cover plate. - four ultra-sound sensors which are installed in the rear bumper. - an audible signal transmitter which is integrated into the instrument cluster. Electrical connections need to be made between the each of the four sensors, the control unit, reverse signal wire, the instrument cluster, power and ground.
  23. Yes, any dealer can tell by VIN - even over the phone. I think most MY02's had a four year warranty - best hurry.
  24. Porsche is on their 6th tank design - the newest tank (the one you want is 996 106 157 03). If your car has warranty left then it should be replaced under warranty.
  25. Your dealer is wrong - first the 997 engine is the same engine as the 996 - some cars can use a quart every 1500 miles and some do not. For instance my MY99 does not use any oil between changes at all. If your car does not use oil then simply smile at those folks that complain about using a quart every 1500 miles. :D
