  1. If you go to the Porsche Technik book for the 997 S - the HVAC section starts at page 128. (as a Contributing Member you have access to that here) It will tell you trigger conditions that change air flow and damper settings. If it is not operating within the airflow triggers then you could have a damper (flap) that is hung up or bad. Check the conditions and if you still feel it is not performing correctly then get a PIWIS or Durametric and run through the HVAC diagnostics.
  2. Different years had different parts - it is always best to give us your exact model and year. There are two special "keys" that slide into the front the of the unit and allow you to unlock and remove it (Porsche removal tool 9570/1). Once you slide it ou you disconnect (carefully) the optical cables and the electrical cables. Installation is the reverse. The DVD drives are specific to VIN numbers as there were many changes to PCM in 2005-2007. So unfortunately this is not an easy direct swap. You will need to make sure you get a compatible replacement --and some re-coding will likely be needed to match the unit to the car and update the firmware to the latest level. A Porsche PIWIS and your IPAS codes will be required for that.
  3. :welcome: It is always helpful if you give us the exact model and year of your car please?
  4. Try 5243
  5. Exact model and year of your car please? And... is the a RoW or US/Canada car?
  6. All 996 normally aspirated models are e-gas with one exception the the 1999 C2.
  7. When it won't start you need to run a DME only test. Then report back all fault codes (also please specify whether they are P-codes or Porsche DTC codes - as there is some numbering overlap).
  8. Try 9738
  9. Try 4380
  10. Try 9272
  11. Please read and follow the procedure in the Lost Radio Code FAQ. We need your radio serial number. (not your VIN).
  12. Try 9806
  13. Some of the front end and read end harnesses can be replaced (if needed) without replacing the whole car's harness. Any idea what caused the damage?
  14. Did you follow the procedure in the Lost Radio Code FAQ?
  15. Did you have a look at all the TSBs on hard top noises and latches? http://www.renntech.org/forums/tsbs/carrera/
  16. Moved to the proper forum. Did you do a search (in this forum) as this has been discussed before?
  17. Try 0562
  18. Try 7384
  19. Try 0504
  20. Durametric, PIWIS, or PIWIS 2 can all do diagnostics on the HVAC system. If you do not have access to one of these find a shop that does. Everything else is just guesses or expensive dis-assembly that may not be required.
  21. 997 504 825 04 Left Stone Guard Film -- US MSRP $49.68 997 504 826 04 Right Stone Guard Film -- US MSRP $49.68
  22. Try 1081
  23. Please read my post above we can not help you here.
  24. Well, you obviously did not read the Lost Radio Code FAQ. If you did you would have read: "Can you give me a code for my PCM? These units are manufactured jointly by Siemens and Becker, and the only place where you can get the codes required is from the dealer/OPC. The PCM’s require two codes, the ICS/Siemens code and a Becker code. The ICS is the first code requested. Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC."
