  1. The hardware is basically the same as a real PST2. Realize that PST2 was discontinued in 2004 so it does not support (and will not be updated) for the later model cars. It all comes down to trusting the seller on eBay.
  2. I have the exact same problem on my 99 996 cab trying to connect with Durametric. I can only see the ECU info. Can't see any of the module. "Module Failed to Initialize" Any idea what might be causing this? Thanks, Fred You need to send a support request to Durametric - http://www.durametric.com/support.aspx
  3. You need to find where exactly the leak is coming from.
  4. Sounds like a bad switch and perhaps lock too.
  5. Did you try relieving the pressure on the steering wheel - by turning slightly in each direction?
  6. :welcome: Have your dealer check your car for TSB 7/03 3250 Tiptronic Transmission - Oil Leak In Torque Converter Area -- dated Dec 18, 2003.
  7. :welcome: Please try our Search feature. This has been covered here literally hundreds of times...
  8. Has the cluster ever been out? Any chance that a connector is loose?
  9. Yes, they are different but I do not know the differences. 997 - 997.111.221.03 and 997.111.222.03 997 S - 997.111.421.04 and 997.111.422.04
  10. Try 7657 or 7655 Thanks for that Loren. Tried both with no luck. Just waiting for the 60 minutes to expire to try the '2 rule'. Many thanks for all your help - you really are #1... W No luck. Tried 7653, 7655, 7657, 7659 and 7661. Oh well, never mind! Thanks for trying Loren, much appreciated! Does it matter to where the radio/car is shipped? I'm in the UK. W No, country does not matter if it works then it works if it doesn't then it doesn't. You did get the serial number from the FAQ procedure not off a card in the car? Got the serial number by pressing TP for 10 seconds then turning the right hand knob as per your earlier instructions... W Then you can try the other things in the FAQ.

  12. No relay. Here is a link to the 996 DIY - the Boxster will be the same except that the transmission is turned 180 degrees and you will likely have to remove some support panels to reach it. Replacing Reverse Lights/Back-Up Lights Switch
  13. Start by checking fuses. B5 is the backup lights and B10 is the parking assistant. If both are fine then you likely have a bad backup light switch (on the transmission).
  14. :welcome: Please tell us the year and model of your car -- and whether it is a 5-speed, 6-speed, or Tiptronic.
  15. Try 7657 or 7655
  16. :welcome: Fault code 4205 Speed sensor lead, front left Possible cause of fault - Short circuit to B+ / ground or open circuit between control unit and speed sensor - Speed sensor faulty - Control unit faulty Sensor should be between 1k ohms and 3k ohms. If not the sensor is bad. Also, clean the toothed ring at the front left for soiling and damage.
  17. Try 9543 or 9541
  18. 996 Carrera 4S radiators are the same as 996 Turbo -- the 996 C2/C4 are not. You want 996.106. 131.72 Left radiator -- US MSRP $592.20 Check with Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) as after their discount you will likely be paying the same or nearly the same (as the site you referenced) for genuine Porsche parts.
  19. Usually the rotors are too thin - you need a micrometer to measure them and see if they are within spec. Also look for cracks - if a crack goes between two vent holes - they need to be replaced.
  20. If you really want to buy the car spend the $30 for a Carfax and spend $100-$200 for a PPI (pre purchase inspection).
  21. P1118 Oxygen Sensor Heating After TWC, Bank 2 – Above Limit P1118 Oxygen Sensor Heating After TWC, Bank 2 – Below Limit P1118 Oxygen Sensor Heating After TWC, Bank 2 – Open Circuit P1118 Oxygen Sensor Heating After TWC, Bank 2 – Signal Implausible – Heating resistance too low – Short to B+ – Short to ground – Corrosion in connector – Break in wiring except for a few litz wires – Break in wiring – Heating resistance too great – Open circuit in sensor line – Oxygen sensor You will need to run a few resistance checks to find the actual problem. Check resistance of oxygen sensor heating. 1. Remove connector of oxygen sensor 2 after TWC. 2. Connect ohmmeter to pin 1 and pin 2 of the oxygen sensor connector towards the oxygen sensor. Display: < 2.6 Ω at 25 °C Perform adaptation. 1. Switch on the ignition. 2. Wait one minute. Do not press the accelerator. 3. Switch off the ignition for at least 10 seconds. 4. Read out the fault memory. Measure resistance between oxygen sensor housing and oxygen sensor heating. 1. Remove connector of oxygen sensor 2 after TWC. 2. Connect ohmmeter to pin 1 of oxygen sensor housing and oxygen sensor connector towards the oxygen sensor. Display: ∞=Ω 3. Connect ohmmeter to pin 2 of oxygen sensor housing and oxygen sensor connector towards the oxygen sensor. Display: ∞=Ω It will be either a bad connection, wiring, or bad O2 sensor. Most likely the O2 sensor but best to make sure.
  22. VIN: WP0CA2995YS650613 Vehicle: 2000 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA2/4 Records: 10 records found in the CARFAX Vehicle History database If you really want to buy the car spend the $30 for a Carfax and spend $100-$200 for a PPI (pre purchase inspection). And, if the car is at a Porsche dealer ask for a warranty.
  23. Normal amount? Unless the power steering is leaking you should never really need to add any. You might want to pull the front underbody cover off and have a look at the steering rack. Look for signs of small leakage or damage.
  24. Model and year of your car please? Also, US or RoW?
  25. :welcome: You likely have the Comfort Seats which would put the heaters on the same fuse. E1 for left seat E2 for right seat If the seats move then fuse is not blown. If that is the case then the control box is likely blown.
