  1. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  2. When the car sits for 5 days (or more) the remote alarm system shuts down to save the battery. To access the car you lock and unlock the car using the key - this over-rides the shutdown and returns the alarm to a normal state. If you can not unlock the car if the mechanical key then something in door lock is broken.
  3. :welcome: Start by getting your battery tested. If it is over 4 years old replace it anyway. Lock the car with the key and unlock it a couple of times. See if things return to normal.
  4. At this point yes, I would clear the codes and see if they come back.
  5. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  6. Settle down folks... Fault code 21 - W lead (DME - immobiliser), open circuit Possible cause of fault - Short circuit to ground/open circuit in the communication lead between the alarm system control module and the DME control module Fault code 33 - Passenger compartment: monitoring sensor faulty Possible cause of fault - Passenger compartment monitoring faulty Fault code 49 - Klead Possible cause of fault - K lead connected to ground for at least 2 seconds after ignition is switched on Have you checked to see if the alarm control box (under the left front seat) got wet?
  7. For Halogen lights: "Self-adhesive film is available for masking the dipped-beam headlights for left-hand drive vehicles (Germany) in countries where vehicles drive on the left (England) or for right-hand drive vehicles in countries where vehicles drive on the right." Sorry, Litronics would have been easier - there is a switch inside the headlight housing.
  8. Oh okay. Do you know if your headlights are haolgen (stock) or Litronic (optional Xenon)
  9. Did you look for instructions in your Owners Manual?
  10. I believe that is a 5 digit code - if it is (and you give me the serial number) I'll give it a try. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the ser# without ripping it out of the dash, the digits must be 1-6 no zeros or 7 8 or 9. Well I managed to rip it without gouging anything too bad and the serial number is POCR-1R0420292 V40420292B Part no. 993.645.104.00 BTW the guy at swstereo.com was very nice and talked me through getting the unit out but did not have a code. Good guy. Ok, try 46672 - good luck!
  11. If it is both headlights - I think it must be the switch.
  12. thanx for the quick reply, tried 0938 and 0936, didn't work, called dealer and they gave me 5425 but no worky vehicle serial number WP0CA298WU620401, BECKER 1, 4462, W5011401, 48/98 COULD YOU GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY?, thanx...dave Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  13. For 996TT it should be: (warmed up) At idle speed: 16 - 20 ML in kg/h No load, n=3,000 rpm: 60 - 80 ML in kg/h
  14. A Boxster is easiest, a Carrera is easy, and a Turbo is 4-5 hours. So I guess it is all a matter of perspective...
  15. Hmm... I think you need to put a PST2 or PIWIS on the car and check out the alarm. No LED after locking would say the car alarm is not armed.
  16. Don't you just turn the bolt on the end of the torsion bar? Been a long time since I had a 1974 914 2.0 but that is what I remember. You should also loosen the steering box knuckle and realign it with the lowered front end - so the geometry will be right.
  17. The easiest way is to remove the mufflers - only adds 5-10 minutes. Where do you live? Lots of ice, snow and salt?
  18. Some of the Bosch will work - and some won't. The fault code points to only that sensor.
  19. :welcome: P1117 Oxygen Sensor Heating After TWC, Bank 1 – Above Limit Potential causes: – Heating resistance too low – Short to B+ Did you use Porsche O2 sensors - many aftermarket sensors will not work in these cars. If you did use Porsche sensors then - check wiring from DME control module, pin II/7, to disconnection point of oxygen sensor 1 after TWC for short to B+. If so, you have a shorted wiring harness.
  20. Model and year of your car please? Your profile says 98 Boxster but you posted in the 996TT section - so I have ho idea which car we are talking about.
  21. Any OBD II fault codes or pending codes? I would inspect the coil packs too.
  22. If you have OBD II software you should be able to see the MAF air flow readings which will tell you if the MAF is working properly. A leaking injector is fairly rare but it can happen.
  23. Try 0938 or 0936
  24. Sorry, does not come up on any of my Porsche lists. Send me a PM with your full VIN and I will have it looked up.
  25. The parts lists show a 997TT alternator (2nd generation) as the current part number for a 996TT. It that what you have been using?
