  1. Here is what I am aware of (as of this date): ABD is the same as is used on the current PSM. ASR is the Limited Slip Differential (LSD) option. The optional PASM adds an electronic adjustment to the shock absorbers. It allows you to set Normal or Sport. Also, if it senses - uneven (bumpy) road it softens the the shock absorbers to give a more comfortable ride - likewise if it senses sporty driving it firms the shocks.
  2. No those are still the pads used today on new (non-ceramic) TTs. No other factory options except ceramic. Also, the Ceramic part numbers above have changed with a newer TSB (in the TSB section).

  5. The wiring for the rain sensor passes through the bottom of the mirror mount. They are separate parts and options. Both can be retrofit. It is likely easier to do both at the same time since the same panels will need to be removed to route the wires.
  6. For the dimming mirror... inside mirror or outside mirror? Sorry, there is no TSB for headlight washer retrofit.

  8. Interesting the current paper manual price in the US is over $2000 :eek: A year ago in was under $500. Other than the ridiculous online manual price these were your only choices. Have they come to their senses? :wacko:
  9. Where is your dealer? 999 512 551 00 still shows as a valid part on my April 2004 part list. It is 36 x 12 mm. 999 512 499 00 is 40 x 12 mm so it will likely work too. You will just have more overlap.

  11. That is correct. The newer cars have additional chassis supports welded in. X74 is not approved or recommended by Porsche for any cars older than MY02.

  13. Yes. The ISO connector works on all 3 of my cars - Porsche, Mercedes, and Jeep (wife's). It is not unusual to have a disconnect/reset on some vehicles when you are changing tests or running a special test (O2 sensors). Some of the cars computers do this to make sure they transmit clean info from the different OBDII controllers in the car. Usually it reconnects right away automatically. Also, I understand that some vehicles shut down the communications link when there is no traffic for long periods of time - my wife's Jeep does this.

  16. Make sure you have the latest version since the updates are almost monthly. My version is: Version 1.13 05-07-04. Here are my gateway setup screens (these are all default I believe).
  17. My RMS was fixed in Feb 2002 with just under 10,000 miles - no problems since. Most folks don't have another RMS problem - I haven't. In several cases Porsche has fixed 2nd and 3rd RMS failures out of warranty and even replaced engines that were 5-6 years old. IMHO any car can have a problem or two and this issue is no better or worst than other cars. If you enjoy the car - then keep it if not - then sell it. Personally I think a lot of folks are over-stressing about RMS issues for no reason. It really is only a problem in a small percentage of cars and Porsche has fixed or replaced engines at no cost in almost every case.

  19. No it is not the same. I use a hockey puck on the jack and CAREFULLY position it off of the rocker panels but still on the jack point. There are a couple of companies that make a smaller pin like adapter for jacks... but you still need to be careful. Positioned wrongly will crack the rocker panel.

  21. Yes, if you go too low you can overheat the sidewalls and cause tire damage.
