  1. Try 1099 or 1097
  2. There is a TSB for this. TSB 9/04 6963 Airbag Warning Light On - Fault Code 1217 and 1218 -- dated Jun 7, 2005.
  3. Please do not double post. Re-read the board Guidelines/Rules if you are unsure. I have deleted your other post.
  4. Double check that TSB 3/00 1728 Lack of Oil Pressure on Start Up -- dated 7-27-00 has been performed on the car.
  5. Carefully remove the airbag (no key in the ignition) and the detach the electrical connector - being careful of the clock spring. Tighten the steering wheel nut and then reassemble.
  6. Those are just connectors. So if you can find equivalent ones elsewhere the cost will likely be much less. Did you get a quote from Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost)? They will likely be much less. You will also need a connector tool to remove the pins from the connector.
  7. It is not an updated wiring harness - it is re-making the ground connections to the chassis under the left seat and the connectors in that the buckles plug into. In a few rare cases the airbag controller needs to replaced too.
  8. Yes, it remembers the last state. Do not press auto or it will go back to auto on.
  9. Press the snowflake button (when the car is on).
  10. Try 0955 or 0953
  11. :welcome: Best check your tire sizes and wheel widths/offsets first (since you are new to the car).
  12. I don't think the vacuum in the tank is stored long when the engine is not running.
  13. The B&M short shifter instructions cover the console removal. They are actually pretty good. Just go to their site and download the PDF file.
  14. :welcome: This sort of thing has been covered here a few times. The need to put an amp meter in series with the battery. Then remove a fuse at a time until they find the circuit with the drain. Once they find the circuit they need to trace down the cause. Many times it is a 3rd party device that is causing the drain.
  15. Removing selector knob Note: The ignition key must be in position 1 before the locking button can be pressed. 1. Press locking button and release lug under the locking button in direction of travel using an Allen key, for example. 2. Pull off locking button against the direction of travel. 3. Use a screwdriver to lever the spring clip out of the lock. 4. Pull selector knob up and off the selector lever. Installing selector knob 1. Push spring clip all the way back. 2. Fit locking button. 3. Push complete selector knob over the lock and all the way onto the selector lever.
  16. Most GIAC installs that I am aware of flash your original DME. So yes, they would need to flash it back to stock. But it will still on the DME that something was changed.
  17. Model and year of your car please?
  18. That will depend on the dealer. If you want to be safe - then have them put the stock program back in the car - at least until the warranty period is over.
  19. Thanks everybody. Let's assume it *is* this coil problem to which you're referring, roughly what does this repair cost (assuming they need to be replaced)? Are we talking hundreds or thousands? Thanks again! Rick If your car is under warranty (and I would think a MY06 is under warranty) it should be free. US MSRP on the coil packs is $17.70 each (and you likely need all 8).
  20. X51 solved this problem on 3.4 and 3.6 liter cars. They add the baffle and an additional oil return. Unfortunately X51 requires head changes and partial engine disassembly.
  21. Sorry, pretty much impossible without a serial number.
  22. :welcome: What model and model year car please? Are you getting an airbag light? What fault code(s) are you getting? (there is a TSB for two different faults)
  23. I use this software on a laptop computer. Car Code Software Review A link to the site is at the bottom of the review. Only $122 for software and cable.
