Procedure For Valve Cover Sealant Renewal

Hi, 99 Boxster ....Going to pull the Cam Covers cause they appear to be leaking oil and Bank 2 most likely has a faulty Solenoid to be replaced.. My question is how much from the top of the engine do I need to remove to get the Cam Covers off with the engine in the car. Do I need to remove the intake manifold and fuel rails? The Trans will be dropped cause I'm doing the IMS and RMS as well. A little nervous!! Thanks in advance for any advice. V -

Well, I took a quick peek as to where the bank 2 solenoid would be. I imagine its only accessible from below? New at this adventure. V

Hi All, 99 Boxster 130k ...Going to investigate P1359 CEL code. Although the CEL disappeared after a battery disconnect and hasn't come back on at idle. Was reading about checking voltage and resistance at connector and applying voltage to solenoid to activate with engine off to listen for click or activate with engine running to listen for change in idle. My question is ...is it safe to use a jumper wire direct from battery as the 12v source and which side of connector is hot and ground(or wire color).Thanks
