  1. The price of $1,795 Pounds equals the new price in the US of $2,700. Are you in the UK?
  2. I just had the IMS blow out on my 2005 Boxster S this weekend. The best I can tell is your options are a used engine, reman or a rebuild. LA Auto Dismantlers have a 3.2L and a 3.4L used engines for sale. You need to be careful on what you purchase. As you said, 17 to 18K for a remanufactured engine, I'd suggest adding the IMS fix while you are at it. I just shipped mine to Jake Raby in Cleveland, GA and waiting on the prognosis. They can build my engine into a solid 3.6L but it will take 4 months and mine is my only car. Let us know what you decide.
  3. I have a 2005 Boxster S and have been having an intermittent problem with my Low Oil Pressure light. I first noticed it when at the track last month. after about 15 minutes of driving the warning light would flash, it didn't stay on. It took me a couple times just to read it because it flashed so fast. I took it to the shop and they replaced the Oil Sending Unit and said the pressure was at 80 psi at 5K RPMs which was in spec. This weekend I drove 150 miles and it flashed a couple times at the end of the trip. It didn't come on when I made the return trip. Any ideas?
  4. Do you happen to have Bilstien PSS9s installed on the car. #1 sounds like a missing washer thats supposed to be transfered from the stock strut.
  5. I use the Denson 500 and I only have the CDR 24 and no PCM
  6. I flashed my car with the Softronic software. It added Sport Mode which turned off the rev limiter and allow you to add catless headers. I put my car on a dyno with the flash(which had been running on the car for months) and then flashed my car back to stock and ran another dyno. There was no difference in horsepower.
  7. I would think the dealer would have checked the alignment as part of the CPO program. You might check with them to see if they will help.
  8. APR offers a CPU upgrade with valet mode. Have you had the car for a while or purchase it recently.
  9. i have the same issue with my 2005 987S. I'm taking it back to the dealer for the 5th time next week. Fortunatly I had the problem while it was under warranty.
  10. I installed the OEM Short Shifter in my Boxster, It's a little stiffer and approx 20% shorter throw but much better than the standard shifter.
  11. Mine was scratched by the previous owner. I bought an exterior color Center Console from Bumperplugs, I'm very happy with it.
  12. I found a set of used Adaptive Sport seats for sale. These were out of a 997 and would like to know if I can swap them out with my power standard seats in my 987S? Will they be plug and play?
  13. An aftermarket GPS take a time to install. and need expert people to install mybe? Then I need a double din fitting with the same "frame" of PCM. Where can I find? D'you have experience regarding this issue? Loren I'm sorry but I just newer and I can't understand your sentence : "put a "Wanted" ad in the Wanted forum here, and check salvage yards for parts too" I haven't installed an aftermarket system, by the time you look at the cost of upgrading to the PCM and compare it to the installed cost of aftermarket system, you may want to go with the latter.
  14. There is a link to Sunset Imports on the top of the page, you can purchase a new unit at cost + 15%. You said you have the Sound + system, it may be better to put an aftermarket GPS head unit and use your current speakers. I bet you can save money and have a better system. You will need to add a Gateway to have an ipod interface with the PCM.
  15. I have an '05 Boxster and the radio has always sucked. The CDR24 was replaced and I just replaced my windshield (so the antenna has been replaced). It didn't help. Turning Surround Sound off is the only thing that helps.
  16. How would one be able to stop a over rev from a downshift?? Good point
  17. I was at the track last month and shifted from 2nd to first by mistake. It made a noise after that and the dealer replaced my transmission and flywheel under warranty. They said the ring gear and pinion were damaged. I don't think I left the clutch out enough to overrev the engine. I'm suprised there aren't any rev limiters on a downshift.
  18. I had a guy break mine in a NTB store. It cost 100 for the dealer to reprogram my key, plus $200 for a replacement head. I tried exchanging the chips and it didn't work.
  19. It's possible to enable Sport Mode with a CPU Software upgrade. The Sport Mode will remain on all the time. check softronic.us
  20. I think stock is 9.5" on the rear, it should say on your wheels. Are you planning on new tires too?
  21. I have 35K on mine. I bought it almost 2 years ago with 8 K. I put on about 15K per year as an everyday driver.
  22. I just upgraded to some 19" Sport Design Wheels from 18". I couldn't tell much difference. Of course, I don't have a princess pea butt either. Does the LE have PASM?
  23. I found a used PCM for sale, it's part # is 997.642.131.05 Will it work in an 05 987 S? It looks like the part. It appears to just be the head unit. Wouldn't I need a NAV unit and wiring harness? Would someone know the part #s and what they would cost? Thanks for your help.
  24. I have found ebay a good source for prices. That's where I found my car. 05 987 S
