If the vehicle is equipped with a Start/Stop system, it is necessary to program the old part, battery (note this is not a conventional battery, but specifically to the system) or alternator out of the load system, and reprogram the new or replacement part in to the load system. It may be the problem.
  2. With all due respect particlewave, there must be something wrong with the rotation direction of the fan on your car. There is effectively outside air blown over the engine as indicated by Loren, hold a sheet of paper against the grille when the fan is operating, it remains sticking to it.

  5. As far as i know a 987 does not use the rear body control module, their roof system is electro-mechanically using two relais, one up and one down. Anyway, on MY2005 had the factory the rear body control module incorrectly programmed as convertible (997) where several error codes appeared as "communication error" since there is no connection between the module and roof system as opposed to a 997 which is hydraulic-mechanically. You need to change the indication "convertible present" in the module to "convertible not present" to start with. Only if the module is correctly programmed and there are no longer error codes present, can search and measuring work begin.
  6. A deviation upwards, of appr. 5% to the GPS speed, is allowed to manufacturers for legal reasons. Is not obliged, it is admitted by the European regulations to avoid legal proceedings and claims against vehicle manufacturers. It is not prohibited to calibrate the speedometer annually at a company recognized by the administration.
  7. No they have not, the MY in the VIN# will either 6 (2006) or 8 (2008).

  9. Apparently, given the built-in transponder does not correspond to the reciever of the vehicle, i would say do it.
  10. Yes, it's the flap, whether the actuator, just below the AC particle filter where the problem is.
  11. The last time i had this phenomenon, it was the amp, however there was no Dension present. To the content of your post, i have the impression that your dealer is not really willing to solve the problem, i would therefore choose another dealer.
  12. This was probably done by the previous owner, this type of exhoust tips is sensitive to vibrations after a couple of years, associated with a very irritated sound. Usualy even one or more brackets, on the rear of the tip, break off, watch out for that.

  16. Both AC pipes are the most vulnerable when it goes wrong with jacking.
  17. The drainage diagrams for 986 and 987 are exactly the same, no difference whatsoever.

  20. I do not understand why they keeps coming back to a VIN number, IMS is after all engine related which have an indification itself, the engine number notably. Some cars (VIN numbers) have a second or even third engine already mounted with obviously different engine numbers, it is obvious that it is difficult or impossible to find out through the VIN. Take it from me that they know well in Stuttgart which bearing is mounted in which engine (engine number). "Deutsche grundlichkeit" you know, it is not because they do not communicate that they do not know how it is structured, i've been there long enough to know them.
  21. The Tiptronic themselves are basicaly the same but the ratios, gears and differential, are different by type of vehicle and model year, it is advisable to keep the same year and type of Tiptronic, otherwise it would be an experiment regarding accelerations/top speed/shift points/etc. The difference between Tiptronic and Tiptronic-S is the ECU and the buttons, not the Tiptronic itself.
  22. You can do it of course, but keep in mind that the converter should slide over differend splines. It is important to respect the distance of the converter (height) relative to the bellhousing, during assembly, otherwise it is a certainty that the splines and Tiptronic oilpump get damaged. Also replace the oil seal over the splines/in front of the oil pump, a certain degree of skill and experience is required given the high costs if things go wrong.
